Come on' date=' 149 in 44 balls is much better. To get that many runs in 44 balls requires some intense hitting.[/quote'] 264 in 173 balls requires skill, stamina, power, temperament and a working brain. Also ADB came in with only 1 down in 39th over with 0 pressure

de Villiers has the potential to score 264 in 173 balls. But does Rohit have the potential to score 149 in 44 balls? No. Scores like 264 in 173 balls seems a lot easier to do than 149 in 44.

I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic but I would actually agree with that. Afridi did it in a time when 250 was a match winning score in ODI cricket, as well as doing it against the world champions. He started the trend. And the fact that it was his first international innings makes it even more spectacular!

Don't agree at all until someone scores as many. No point considering things as easy which have not happened apart from Rohit. Let someone else score 264 to see if that is easy or tough.

Many people have got close to it in Domestic cricket. But not many have got close 159 in 44 in domestic. The closest anyone has come is Gayle. But seriously, is de Villiers vs Sharma even a question? Everybody outside India would laugh at this.

Rohit's 264 was a much better knock than de Villiers' score today, and I'm saying that as a neutral viewer (I'm not a fan of either of them). What is more is that de Villiers' score was against the world's worst bowling attack (including associate countries) while Rohit's knock was against decent Sri Lankan bowling. Let de Villiers get this against Australia and I'll become his biggest fan.

To clarify, I am comparing two innings here, not two players. imo 264 is better than 149 but overall ABD is better cricketer than Rohit considering all formats. But the 264 innings Rohit has played no cricketer has ever played.

in all seriousness , afridis knock is better .. when afrdi did it , it was the time batsmen use to take 150 balls to score a ton

Rohit 264 is ahead due to the sheer volume. Let ABD prove that he can reach 264 without being dismissed. The journey from 149 off 44 to 264 off 173 isn't a simple one - you can get out easily. Let us not forget that WI has conceded two of the fastest hundreds over the past one year - to Corey Anderson and Jesse Ryder. This is the worst bowling at this level. Rohit double was against a decent bowling attack.

Rohit was dropped on 5 in that innings, that needs to be considered too
