As i am seeing angelo mathews in the ongoing ODi series, irfan came to my mind immediately. Irfan could have done the same job for India as Angelo. But he is a turned page and dont see him playing for india again. He is way too injury prone. He came back in this Ranji season strongly with 90+ runs and 5 wickets. But that hardly counts as we can never trust his fitness

People like Younis, IK and Wasim used to jog like fanatics to build up stamina for fast bowling. also shameless. irfan was openly questioned in the previous IPL, why he was fit only during the IPL and doesnt play the rest of the Ranji season. even Yusuf pathan is a waste character. he could have easily played instead of Ashwin in this team if he worked on his bowling. Infact it is his place that jadeja took away and made his own. Sehwag is another lazy genius. Could have been a genuine allrounder.

Their climate is very suitable for fast bowling and yet they send their players to England, where young colts become race horses. Our colts train on impotent wickets in India in harsh climate and become mules/ donkeys/ pack horses and at best work horses. first of all we should make wickets in India which have a good balance for both the bat and ball

Also, in an attempt to gain pace, he has lost his muscle flexibility that leads to injuries.

TA Shekhar DD coach when Pathan was with DD also talked about it. Too many heavy muscles are bad for bowlers. Need to build lean muscles. It does affect some players' running and they keep getting injured. Look at Gayle, he has gained a lot of strength but he just cannot run.

He made enough in the IPL along with his brother I dont think that is true you know, always struck me as a guy who was pretty committed. His bowling action went all crazy and lost all zip, its almost like he tinkered too much with it. Maybe focussed on his batting too much too. Honestly with his it was a case of what could have been, remember he was man of the match when we beat Aus in Perth in 08, one of our greatest test wins. And for a while he was a ODI new ball bowler of real class... had a great spell under Chappel when was superb with bat and ball...Could have at least been a good ODI allrounder for us till today but injury put an end to that. Think any India comeback is a long way off now
