No self respecting cook uses store brought fried onions or onion-garlic paste' date=' etc[/quote'] I agree with the fried onions as the oil used is pretty bad but garlic paste should be fine. At least I use ginger garlic paste :((

Damn this looks so good! Is that catfish fillet? :sherlock:
Cooked more last weekend. Here is the process * Get any fresh fish fillet, Tapalia or catfish * Use yogurt and tandoori masala from MDH- mix * Add coriander chutney and keep mixing * Leave the fish in marinade for 10-15 mins. * Broil at 525* for 20 mins or so. Couple of points to remember * Cook the fish on a grill else ts almost impossible to flip it over without breaking it * Marination helps when its at least 4-5 hrs, so I just dip the fish in for a few minutes and then grill it

Guys, do you have any simple recipes for vegetarian dishes? (I'm not totally useless in the kitchen) Had an incident last month. Been advised to shift to a largely veg and seafood diet.

Not necessarily. But recently, I've been advised to shift to a largely veg and seafood diet. Chicken only once a week. I have a hereditary problem of excess bile juice production. I've had seizures in the past, though I'm not epileptic. But yea, I have to change my diet.

You can do a lot of stuff by grilling vegetables. You can grill any vegetable and even use marinade on it. The thing to remember is to not put too much marinade as it doesnt absorb and it becomes a layer on top. Its more about seasoning it. My favourite is grilled baigan and capcisum. I will post detailed recipes for fish as Im myself trying to move to a diet which has more fish and less chicken.

Red Onion Chutney 1. Cut onions (nos. 3) to pieces (you will be grinding it, so don't have to cut it too small) 2. Heat a saucepan over medium heat and swirl in oil. 3. When the oil is heated, add onions. 4. Saute for about 5 minutes. 5. Then add dry red chilli (2 pieces). Saute for 2-3 mins. 6. Add cashew nuts as needed. 6. Add tomato (2 pieces) and saute well. 7. Add salt and saute for a few more minutes. 8. After sauteing it well...grind it in a mixer. 9. Taste it; if you need more salt, add and grind it again. 10. Fry small mustard seeds (black) in a pan. 11. Add the fried mustard seeds to chutney. It tastes good with dosa and samosa :marchmellow:

I haven't had much capsicum in my life. I'll try something with mushrooms and tofu this weekend. Neither are very flavorful though. Looking forward to your fish recipes. :--D

Another fish dish (mumbai koli style) Grind to fine paste coriander leaves, garlic (5-6),green chilli, salt and loads of pepper powder. Marinate fish (preferably Swai) in lemon juice for 20 mins. Then apply this green paste to fish and roll it in Rava. Shallow fry on medium each side for 4 mins .
