MK55 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Umesh Shami Aaron as strike bowlers and Mohit as backup....If Aaron gets some confidence, these 3 would form a terrific bowling line up. Fast bowling would actually be our strength.

express bowling Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I am really happy that Umesh has improved his accuracy a lot without reducing his average pace. He is looking like a different bowler now. Shami has improved his bouncer significantly. It is looking fast and effective now.

Even that slight extra bounce make world of difference. All the 3 pacers are combining pace with decent accuracy. None of them have been either slow or innaccurate. Their teamwork and complementing each other is making a lot of difference. Even the spinners are turning quite a few deliveries.

MCcricket Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Aaron has untapped potential n pace to shake the batters n get wkt taking deliveries out of no where, it is a travesty he is cooling his heels while half fit BK who is clearly on a decline is a passenger, Aussies backed 4 greenhorns and now have built a decent attack but India doesn't seem to understand , imagine if Ushant n BK were fit we would have a very mediocre attack by choice so it is an accident that we have Shami, Umesh, Mohit playing

However, if he gets to play for a decent length of time without injury and get sufficient bowling practice in actual matches, he will improve. What I liked about his Irani Cup bowling was that he was trying to bowl to a plan and set up batsmen, trying to bowl at one area.

Yes, we got lucky with injuries to other bowlers, otherwise Dhoni won't play Umesh Yadav in the playing eleven, we also got lucky that Shami paid heed to Akhtar and Wasim's advise that dropping pace should not be the mindset for a fast bowler. The only place we got unlucky was that Varun Aaron was not given a place in the squad whereas Binny and Axar were never going to get a game, even for a backup bowler selectors sent freaking Dhawal Kulkarni. I am quite sure if Varun Aaron was available as backup in Australia then Dhoni would have opted to use him as replacement instead of keeping half-fit Bhuvi in the squad, there is no way Dhoni would replace Bhuvi with Dhawal. Even half-fit Bhuvi would bowl 125-130kph with more swing than Dhawal or Binny. It feels awful to see Varun bending his back, bowling reverse swing at 145kph in his 18th over at Bangalore Irani trophy instead of bowling 150-155 kph in Australia whereas people like Dhawal, Binny make sure neither they will play nor will they allow the fastest bowler of the India in the world cup squad or even as a useful backup

I saw him bowling between 136 to 143.6k against Africa kinda as fast as shammi. shastri made a statement...3 140+ bowler. Then in one game he bowled 135 to 140k averaging 138. .that's good. But in few he is averaging 136..He has a difficult slower ball. I mean he is decreasing his average pace now a days so I m keeping my fingers crossed. Shammi n umesh are fast in their last spells also. Let's hope mohit cranks up a bit in semifinal. Australia will be tuf for sure In semifinals.
