However, if he gets to play for a decent length of time without injury and get sufficient bowling practice in actual matches, he will improve. What I liked about his Irani Cup bowling was that he was trying to bowl to a plan and set up batsmen, trying to bowl at one area. Thing is he does not stick to it for longer. Second inning is the example, trying to do much. This leads to hot and cold spells.

Above 140k always and quickest around 150k. Steyn bowled the odd quick delivery (147k) but pace has been down in this tournament. Boult was a bit slower than usual. I think his quickest was 144k. Southee was the slowest will hardly anything above 140k. Looked benign with both the new and old ball. Matt Henry was the quickest Kiwi with quite a few balls above 144k. Looked the best after Boult

I mean between 137 to 143k indian pace attack will be really potent...as mohit has been quite different in his pace during this cup.. I guess only when he tries very hard he gets upto 140- 142k. shammi and Umesh combined are good but a little less than 2 mitchells' combined. their third pacer and Mohit are kinda equivalent.. I guess their 4th bowler and 5th bowlers could be a bit weaker to INDIA and that's where our batsman should exploit. only point of a bit of worry is mitchells are dangerous and really dangerous and both of them can get key wickets early causing india to be at the back foot.
vishalvirsingh Posted March 25, 2015 Author Posted March 25, 2015 steyn was under 140K at most times and I have seen then he does not look like the dreaded and dangerous Steyn... morkel also looked a bit slower in this Cup and philander was always a trundle and never a danger for any batting team. Abbott looked better then steyn and morkel some times...that goes to show how ordinary were steyn and morkel in the world cup.

Yamaha Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 First time in our history we have 3 frontline bowlers who consistently bowl 145k+ Aaron, Umesh and Shami. Our bowling attack is looking better by the day.
