Number Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Ashwin has pretty much selected himself after the Pakistan game. Dhawan has washed his past sins. I am divided over who should we play in All rounder spot. Binny should be natural choice at the MCG pitch, however Saffers play the medium pacers much better but Jaddu looks very rusty as of now, specially with the bat. Its a 50-50 and I think MSD will most likely go with the winning combination. In batting order, at least against SA, I think we should play Rohit at 4 and Rahane should open. Rahane has much better technique and Rohit can be utilised down the order as a hitter which we are lacking due to MSD's form. Also whenever I have seen Rohit against Steyn on a decent pitch he looked totally out of sorts.

We have other players to set up the game.. MSD is there for power play or slog at the end. Its like you saying Haddin needs to man up and play one down.

adi B Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 i wont blame nohit if he gets of to a 20 of 40 ball type startbecause its imperative that we dont lose early wkts to steyn and philander.india will play ashwin because saf have 3 lefties in their side,i'd pick binny ahead of jadeja because spinners wont get much help in mcg and its better to play an extra seamer,though i am dead sure dhoni will play the same team maybe with bhuvi coming back for mohit. my team dhawan nohit kohli rahane raina dhoni binny ashwin bhuvi shami yadav

Steyn is only good in the initial overs and trash in death overs .No need to waste powerplay in 11-15 when he will still be very effective Just play normal cricket and capitalize on their lack of 5th bowler in middle overs. Also SA lack death bowlers so play safe first 10-15 overs and make up for it in the last 10-15 overs massively
