sweetaskandy Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Yeah but we are starting to do it overseas (non SC) as well in ODIs only admittedly - now the conditions have been more batting friendly but then dont see this Aus team being head and shoulders above us. If anything I would say we shade them a tad (on mental strength - in multi-nation tourneys for sure on what we have seen till date) though right now playing at home they have a monster batting lineup - would be a treat to see them go about handling home pressure come the knockouts. Calm down. Aus wipe you aside like a bug 8/10 times.

We've just won one meaningful game' date=' nothing to crow about.[/quote'] I think there's a marked difference between the way we played in the tri-series and the way we played in the two games of the World Cup so far (let's not discount our performance against Pakistan just because they're Pakistan). We didn't play anything like this in the tri-series, not even against England. Everyone was talking about how we couldn't play well on Australian pitches, how our batting would fail here, how poor our bowling has been, how the likes of South Africa would demolish us etc. But India have been as clinical and professional in their two games as you would want a team to be on any pitch.

And obviously ICC tournament is the big stage, so its way more important than any random ODI game and perhaps it brings out the best. Just a thought.

Far away rom being a beast and stop jinxing! What if when batting second, the bowlers restrict the opposition to a lower score? That's pretty much what happened in the last 2 ICC tournaments. If we're jinxed, then fuçk it, we're jinxed. I'm just calling it like I see it. We didn't play like this at point of time during the tri-series, much less against a team of the calibre of South Africa.
