Marut Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Great find for India. At the fall of Kohli, I thought India would get bogged down a bit and crawl to 270. But Rahane had different plans, and outscored the normally explosive Dhawan. At one point, India looked like good for 330, such was his impact. Most of the shots were neat and superbly timed - you wonder how a small man with a slight build can hit so long, but he made it so easy on such a large ground.

He is versatile and adaptable and is more in the vain of sachin than any other batter that we currently have (in terms of not getting mentally awed by any situation and continuing to use his skill to execute plans). He also is the one that gets screwed by our superstars because he doesn't seem to be the kind to stand up and demand batting positions. I wish him all the best and hope that he goes on to be a champion for us across formats because he is that good.

Its good for him anyways. Maybe its our youth now. While growing up we wanted sachin type characters who exhibit calmness. Now its the age of brashness and hence other players get the hype. Agreed upon the comparison with sachin. His game is a bit in the mould of sachin isn't it? Some of the shots like hitting morkel over his head.. Also the way he uses the angles is something that is often overlooked. He's here to stay.:hatsoff:
Guest rixon Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Rahane is special guy after vs,Laxman, I expect India to reach 320 but somehow India not able to score enough from over number 45, dhoni should bat at 4 and score century on Saturday vs. Minor.
