Shivaji bhonsle Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 One batsman gets injured - Rayudu in One bowler gets injured - bhuvi in. I absolutely have no idea why these guys are carrying bhuvi when the news reports are saying that he is not even bowling in nets..!!!
vvvslaxman Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 In a way long gap between matches kinda help us.
Shivaji bhonsle Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 Imagine if Kohli gets injured and Rayudu replacing him. ☹
jf1gp_1 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 i understand the intent behind the post but why are people so negative ? talking about possible injuries, criticizing rohit and jaddu, bash dhoni for whatever possible reason one can cook up. We have a great start lets just hope we keep it up, is it really that difficult to just back your team unconditionally till this WC ends
G_B_ Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 hmm if Mohit gets injured i think Bhuvi might not be such a loss. The loss of Shami and Umesh would be an issue. Bhuvi is not the type of bowler to replace them.

Marut Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Think about the present. These risks apply to all teams. What will SA do if AB/Steyn gets injured? Australia could struggle without Maxwell/MJ; NZ could struggle without Kane/Southee etc.

I understand your point that there is no need to be negative but I am just looking at the possible scenarios in this long tournament.

coffee_rules Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Rayudu can give a break to Raina/Dhoni in the next 4 matches. Pinny too. to some bowler. Minnow bashers need to play next 4 matches, except against WI, we need a strong team.
Cricketics Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Let's not worry about what could happen if certain guy is injured. I would be really pissed now if any of the guy from this winning combination gets injured now. Actually I am already kind of pissed about Bhuvi's injury. He was the guy who was my pick of the bowlers. He still is actually. But one thing is for sure, I am not saying this with over confidence, but with confidence that Indian team do not depend on one player.

CSK Fan Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I think we are very well prepared for this cup and the players are at their fittest. The long gaps help.
MK55 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I am worried about Shami. His ankle seems vulnerable. Went off for some overs to get treatment in the previous match. Even during the tri-series, he had some issue with his leg. Him remaining 100% fit and in top rhythm/pace is crucial.
Shivaji bhonsle Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 best case we play 9 days over a span of 6 weeks which honestly isnt much of a work load for these guys lets not forget that they have been playing in Australia continuously for the past two months. Some of them might be carrying niggles'.
MK55 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Also I feel we are particularly more at risk. Australia for instance has got a strike bowler like Cummins waiting if a bowler gets injured. England has got Jordan. SA has Abbot for Phillander. In comparison, I'm not confident of our reserves. We haven't got a one to one replacement for our quick bowlers. Shami and Yadav have to utilize the breaks wisely.
Shivaji bhonsle Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 I have no problem if some guy gets injured in the line up but I am more worried about the replacements we have in our hands. Are they the best we have in India? No, absolutely not.
zen Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 why such negative thoughts? Such tear shredding reminds me of the sad scenes in bollywood films. For example, there is only one roti for dinner, and both mom and son are acting as if they are not hungry :(( Based up on the comments and threads that I have read, below are some of the personality types: a) The replacement guys The main focus of this group is to focus on parts. Replace x with y and viola the problems are solved. How the replacement impacts the team composition is never considered. For e.g. Binny could straight away come in and replace Mohit and bowl as good as Mohit if not better. And Binny gives depth to batting. Both lower order batting and 3rd seamer problem is solved by this magic trick b) The mood swingers (yours truly included) One day - team Ind is the fav, next day it is not c) The proof guys For them to take a stand, some proof is needed. For example - to know Ind bowling is really good, they would want a simulation of Ind getting bowled out cheaply and the bowling rising up or bowling the opposition out cheaply d) The planners They want everything to happen as per a plan. So if the slogs overs go badly, it is crisis time e) Never satisfied ones No matter how good the team plays - there is always a problem which will make the team lose in the KOs f) The What-if ones What if Ind is about to win a game and thunderstorm strikes g) The happy ones I like this batch. They enjoy cricket w/o focusing on results :icflove:
