velu Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Seriously? I have heard this anecdote from one friend who lives close to his place in Chennai. Roads were blocked as Jayalalitha's convoy was about to pass. Rajnikanth was driving and was stopped. He just came out of his car and stood. In a minute there were thousands gathered to see him. The police immediately lifted the blockade and let him leave. guess all are urban myths :cantstop: both live in the same street if i ma not wrong.. in case if any such thing happened , amma surely might have forced rajni to find another house .. :bandit:
Desi Cartman Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 On my first and only trip to Chennai (yes, I have been to Chennai), the driver told me this story very proudly. His version included Rajni going to meet Amma and her making him wait and then as she was about to leave her office without meeting Rajni, he stood on top of his car and gathered so much crowd that Amma had to call him for a meeting and then meet and apologize :--D
Yoda-esque Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 On my first and only trip to Chennai (yes' date=' I have been to Chennai), the driver told me this story very proudly. His version included Rajni going to meet Amma and her making him wait and then as she was about to leave her office without meeting Rajni, he stood on top of his car and gathered so much crowd that Amma had to call him for a meeting and then meet and apologize :--D[/quote'] It's a true story, not sure he was going to meet Amma though
Desi Cartman Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 Even my Sri Lankan tamil friends have told me of such stories
vvvslaxman Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Well technically you are not even Indian' date=' let alone a tamilian[/quote'] Even when i was in India growing up never had worshipped any actor or anyone. If at all i worshipped someone mostly cricketers.
Zelig Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Amma is a good person..even the elephants like her fKq5dyuVAfQ
Desi Cartman Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 Amma is a good person..even the elephants like her fKq5dyuVAfQ I think he got excited and wanted to mate.
Detonator Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Is it me or are tamilians very susceptible to worship people in power? Velu calls me a bhakt but the the way he fawns over Srini or Apple (as if Apple gives him one cent for every dollar they earn) has me worried. Money and power makes them behave like slaves sometimes. And it is more than one person I have seen in life and online. true tbh.. there are too many lazy jobless people with some money here. Esp, the southern part of TN and north chennai are notorious for these kind of things. It's pretty much exagerrated in Rajni fans case. There are lot of fans, but his bad movies always flopped big time. Linga and baba for eg.,
