If you really want to argue on logical grounds, how are the current tragic events in Pakistan to some or a great extent not the unintended consequences of policies like Strategic Depth, Good Taliban and Bad Taliban, and Death by a Thousand Small Cuts etc? Does pointing this out mean that I condone the incomprehensible human suffering that is occuring? Absolutely not! Please don't overinterpret rhetorical phrases and too out of their original context of argumentation. It doesn't do any good to a well-intentioned discussion. Whether India and Pakistan play in Dec or not might not be that important in the grand scheme of things that actually matter. But you can't blame the GOI for thinking about it in terms of tactical gains or as a strategic asset.

But why should India do it? Restoring Pakistan's cricketing fortunes is not a concern of the GOI. We have enough problems of poverty, corruption and fundamentalism of our own. The argument is that given the current geopolitical reality of cross-border terrorism, it is in India's best national security interests not to resume bilateral cricketing ties with Pakistan in the UAE, that cesspool of betting, hawala, and terrorist funding rackets and networks. Oh and by the way Amir and Asif will be back by then also. We played Lyon very well after first test. Over attacked him a bit in Adelaide. I am sure he averaged 40+ in next 3 tests. Moeen bhai was getting wickets because of pressure created by Anderson. Aamir don't think will be ready by then.
