I don't think the cricket fans of Zimbabwe , Ireland , England , AUS , SA , NZ ,& WI hate the Indian cricket team. My request to all fellow Indian cricket fans is to control their angers no matter how justified it is It is not possible to control when these hateful people of other countries are critical of Sachin and his career. True. However this is especially true for some Lankan posters like Mahaa Raavana, thongale and pakistan trolls like autonomous etc who only shows up when India loses, to bash them or when Pakistan or Lanka wins to bash India further.But then also there are moderate posters like sweetaskandy etc. who dont meddle much. The other aspect is they drag non cricketing reasons unnecessarily such as diet, sanitation etc etc when they dont have anything else to discuss about cricket.

Gambit Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 I have been to Sri Lanka. The people there are really friendly towards Indians and Indian cricketers. I found them to be a very hospitable and warm people. And the country is beautiful as well. Lankans online are a different story. :cantstop:

Then the portuguese arrived and conquered half your island, leading to colonialist struggles, ultimately integrating Sri Lanka with India as a whole under british empire. This, in a nutshell, is your interaction with 'foreign' india over the last 2200 years. Explain to me, how is it any different from India and Pakistan areas, historically speaking, not to mention, other parts of India, who have exactly the same relations with each other (Eg: Tamil Nadu and Bengal) as Sri Lanka does with 'foreign' India. You guys have historically been interwined with us, follow a religion that used to be prevalent in most of india but isn't anymore, your cuisine is indistinguishable from ours ( I am still to figure out how Sri Lankan food is more different to my Bengali pallet than Tamil food is. Its not like eating perogies and polish borscht, now THAT is way different than Tamil food). Your clothing is indistinguishable from ours and your language is not an 'alien language', it is related to Orya and a branch of the Indo-European language. Your nation is a political reality, i have no problems accepting that - neither do i think India has a whit to gain from invading or incorporating Sri Lanka. Have no idea abt Lankans but we could do better wrt bangbros. Sehwag toured Bdesh and before the series said they are ordinary. Then there is Navjyot Phuddu who keeps talking cr@p abt Bdesh. And the indifference wrt Bdesh in Indian movies/songs , news etc is not ideal. Every country wants recognition for its people. Bdesh has no neighbor except India. Having some Bdeshi musicians, actors(am sure there would be many good ones) etc in Indian movies(which are huge in Bdesh I suppose) for ex. could be a good medium in bringing the countries together.
youngindia Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 I really wish the pathetic stereotyping business will stop.promoting stereotypes is abominable apart from being stupid even if you know 1000 people(I don't think most posters here even know a 100) its not representative of even 50000 or millions. Anecdotal experience is limited by its very nature. there are all kinds of people and posters everywhere. its well known the hatred is strongest in Pakistan(shall I say Punjab in particular) and to a lesser extent there is unpopularity among sections in sl and bangladesh. having said that its best to go on a case by case basis taking into account individual differences.
