Can Indians bowl short, fast deliveries?

We dont have pace of Wahab. Also, our bowlers are shorter than Wahab. Yadav can bowl at that pace but he has not in this WC yet and at Sydney, I dont think we are going to see bounce like Adelaide.

Only Yadav can bowl 147+.. but he hasn't since the time he landed in Australia. Under pressure, I don't thnk he can bowl at 150k. Also I don't know if Yadav can bowl accurate short deliveries without conceding wides. Aaron could have definitely bowled but he isn't here. Shami can bowl the occasional delivery at 145k ..so no where close to Wahab's pace. If Mohit decides to use the short ball tactic, he'll be murdered

Do you guys really think a 147kph short ball is dramatically tougher than a 143k short ball? At anything above 140k on a pitch where the ball is not stopping (ie Aussie pitches) placement and trajectory of the short ball take far greater precedence over the speed. Also important is how well it is disguised and whether the pressure is being maintained at the other end as well. The Indian bowlers have done a very good job in all these aspects which is why they've been so successful getting wickets on short of length deliveries and have snagged 70 wickets in 7 matches.

If you want to trouble decent players of short deliveries you need to have pace along with precision. Watson looked at ease when he was playing Sohail who was bowling around 138k-143k. Wahab was getting them near the ears at 150k consistently and that made all the difference. Our bowlers have taken most wickets of short deliveries against the weaker teams. Amla was the only dismissal but that was because he wasn't expecting it. If Mohit is persistent with short deliveries, he'll be taken to the cleaners even by Amla.

And Wahab's quickest that day was 146 kmph. Shami and Yadav can get close enough to this. The pitch helped Wahab as well as left arm angle to Watto who got intimidated. Wahab's sling action helps too as the ball skids on.

Wahab's quickest was 94 mph plus that day which is close to 152K. His average was 90 mph, 145K. It is not just that one day. He had also bowled well against SA.
