The beauty of Sehwag and Tendulkar before him was breathtaking orthodox cricket strokes at one-day speed. McCullum isn't orthodox and neither is ABDV which takes something away from the spectacle IMO. Sehwag's skill and shot selection was so good it was hard to tell which format he was playing. Ditto Tendulkar.

Yeah those too were the best openers I've ever watched batting together. Awesome stuff

Viru's shot selection in test matches was excellent, but not so much in ODIs. He wasn't a feared ODI batsman because he was not consistent. No good team is afraid of a good 30 or 40 but is damn scared of a solid 100 from an opener. Sehwag did not make too many of those, given his test match skills. Sehwag played one shot too many in ODIs. Often he wasted excellent starts. In test matches though he appeared to play too many shots, by his standards he was very prudent and this is reflected in his 50 average.

There was a time when Sehwag would try to play everything through off side and would get bowled or LBW. Bowl straight and he was gone. That used to be do frustrating to watch. Same story match after match.

Sehwag is more of a decent batsman, BAZ is a slogger (much better version of Afridi) who tend to fail 5/10 times.

all these wanna be sehwags :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:. Look at their SR's then when they were playin in sehwags time. One guy cruising at 100+sr and one at 78-80. Recently they upped their SR's with pathetic changes to the game. Sehwag murdered with same disdain since he came to play. Now you can put the thread to rest :finger:
