Rahane's presence is pretty much useless in a stiff chase like this. This was a fear for everyone . He is suitable for very very specific situations. Infact we were aghast at this squad considering the lack of lower order hitting. it bit us in the most crucial match.

Dhoni hasnt retired has he,we may still play some important series with him leading us and face such situations I've always felt that Raina is a different batsman when he comes in the last 20 overs,he can launch from the go and is an invaluable asset.But when the openers got out what we needed was some consolidation and strike rotation,who better than Dhoni to do that?

Agree. Earlier games papered over the cracks. The lack of big hitters down the order was gonna come back to bite in the rear. When the only other batting option is Rayudu you know you are in trouble. Rahane is the poor man's Liam Neeson, he has a very small set of particular skills which are only useful in very limited situations. Need to move on from him.

I won't say it was a "sitter" situation but it had not remained so much difficult after steadying partnership between Kohli and Gambhir. Real pressure situation was when Kohli came or Gambhir came in that match.

Not a lot of things impossible for the match winner - unfortunately days like today seem to fall through the cracks.

Dhoni is not the same guy anymore. His form has also dwindled.
