Since last 3-4 months I am in a fix. I have asked views of some of my close friends (male and female) and have got a mix response. So I will try to be brief, tell you whats happening and get a stranger's view. I attended a relative's wedding in the month of Dec. It was in a different city which I frequently visit due to work. I met a girl in the wedding and we hit off immediately. Though our nature of work is pretty different, it falls in the same industry so we had a lot of things to talk about. Most of IOI's were there. I asked for her number casually and she gave it without hesitating. Returned home the next day and didn't think much about it until I received a text from her couple of days later regarding a part of conversation we had. Maybe she was genuinely enquiring but I read too much into the message and thought she wants to keep talking with me. So we spoke on and off. Most of the times in whatsapp and couple of times over the phone. The thing is she has a BF but when I asked if she is serious about him her reply was "define serious". I didn't wanted to even touch the marriage subject so I just casually replied "I myself don't know" and laughed it off. Never brought that topic again. End of feb I had a half day's work in her city so I booked morning/ evening return flight. I told her I am coming and would she be interested in meeting for a hour or so? First she said she can't get off work and maybe some other day. Fine, didn't push anything. But I got a message from her asking which area I will be in? I told her and she replied that she will try and see. I got a text in middle of meeting that if I can travel half way to her work then she will do the same and we can meet at a particular hangout joint. I said okay. But I kept getting delayed due to the stupid client not honouring the time and in the end I had no option but to rush to the airport. I texted her in middle of the meeting that the best I could is sit at the stupid coffee kiosk by the airport for 30-45mins (if traffic permits). She said okay as she has already taken half day off work she will travel. I was little shocked as I didn't expect that. It meant she would need to travel atleast an hour. Long story short we just met for 20mins. I once agin read too much into that meeting and thought she is seriously interested in me. I first time tried harmless childish flirting with her over the text and it went well. However it lead to nowhere because I had no aim or game. I dont know her relationship with her boyfriend and I get no hints about it from her so I am not sure what she wants. Now the time has come where I either escalate the talk with some aim in mind or just completely let it go. Its pretty pointless to have meaningless conversation with someone in different city. I am just wasting my and hers time. It becomes so boring sometimes and I hate to put any of us in auto reply mode. Even if she doesn't have any feelings for me I don't care because I can handle rejection very well by now, lol. The only question is shall I come in between some guy who I don't even know? PS: I have been single but not desperate since August, 2014.

STAY away from this.... long distance --- hell no, never works, u will get cheated on (if this goes further) She's having her options open...to have u and her bf both on the hooks...in case one doesn't work, can always go for the other. Dude, do not fall for it. Think with your head, not the other head.

Looks like she is into you. But for what reason (casual sex...or something more than that if things go well) is something you will find out only if you push this further. Anyhoo.....long distance is a mess.

lol @ the other head. Yes I have been in a long distance relationship and know its very difficult unless one is seriously committed to make it work. That time I was just out of 12th and was leaving home for college. It lasted for about 4-5months and then we moved on. That time it was different as we weren't mature enough and had loads of options. Now with completely immersed in work, some maturity and less time for socialising I feel thing is different. Until we try nothing can be said. I like her, she is smart and all.

I dont trust people who are in "sort of" relationship. You never know when your relationship with her become "sort of" to her. I dont know anything about her so its not a comment on her but people who cant decide what relation they have with a "supposed" gf/bf have something seriously wrong with themselves.

how do you know that the other boyfriend is not fictional? facebook or some social media ould help and add her n case you already arent friends but if the boyfriend is real then this is asking for trouble. if she is willing to cheat/play around with someone not even in the same city what do you expect she would be like if she is in a long distance rellatonship with yyou

Let me tell you this. 1) Long distance things don't work well. Even strongly established relationships fail due to distances. You are just trying to build on one. 2) But still if you want to keep this as one among your options, well and good. No issues at all. 3) But if this is going to be the only relationship, for sure how hard you try to keep yourself distanced form the relationship, still you will get deeply involved into it and it would cause annoying pain when this fails over. Trust me, guys can have a casual relationship with girls only if they deal with two or more girls at the same time. If there is going to be only one, them its going to get in serious with you.

What if the girl is looking to establish a solid professional connection with you, and has got nothing other than that on her mind? She is a career woman from what I read. It's pretty easy to understand the way a relationship is going by looking at the trends in conversation. I have had relationships with colleagues in the past and the most obvious thing in all those was that we started off talking about work etc but very quickly the chat entered the personal realm, including ahem ahem sexting and the likes. And I have had deep yet professional relationships with career women but the conversations almost never ventured onto these areas even though we used to speak hours on work and other general stuff. It is not a crime to fall in love, or look for opportunities. But my sincere advice would be to evaluate the relationship as it stands now and then take the plunge. Sincerely, an over-the-hill wannabe gamer.

You have nothing to lose .Either this head or the other head :p .As you have already mentioned ,you're matured enough to take rejection or otherwise .Just see it as fun relationship, and nothing else LDR aka Long distance relationship can work. but its very difficult.
