VRV Singh Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 The Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s overseas signing Younus Khan has pulled out of an agreement to join the Club, but Director of Cricket Martyn Moxon has moved quickly to secure the services of Indian Test star Cheteshwar Pujara, subject to a work permit being granted. Yorkshire have acted swiftly to replace the Pakistani international by signing the 27-year-old classy right-hander Pujara, who averages over 57 in First-class cricket and is a major part of India’s top-order in Test cricket. An agreement has been signed with The Board of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) for Pujara to play four-day cricket with Yorkshire until the end of May, when Australian international Aaron Finch will arrive after his Indian Premier League commitments. Moxon is hopeful that Pujara will be free to play in Yorkshire’s opening LV= County Championship match against Worcestershire on Sunday April 12. “We have moved quickly to bring in Pujara and he is a superb player,” added Moxon. “He is an outstanding young Test cricketer, who is hungry to perform in the English game. In the brief conversations I have had with him, he is very much looking forward to be joining Yorkshire and being part of our plans. “He is a classy right-hander that likes to dominate the crease and he will be a big asset for us during the early part of the new campaign. “He speaks fondly of wanting to play for Yorkshire and we are looking forward to welcoming to Headingley and hopefully he can make an impression in the first month of the season with us”. Pujara, who has been playing domestic cricket in India for Saurashtra, is honoured to be joining England’s most successful county. “I’m very excited and honoured to be signing for Yorkshire County Cricket Club,” said Pujara. The Club’s history is fantastic and being the current Champions is a testament to the quality of the Club and staff. “I was looking to return to the UK after my previous experience of county cricket, which I greatly enjoyed and when Yorkshire made the offer I didn’t think twice. To wear the same white rose Sachin Tendulkar did is going to be a great feeling for me. Sachinism Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Yorkshire already have an extremely strong team. Though chances are a lot of their best players will be on national duty. There'll be plenty of responsibility on his shoulders

G_B_ Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 seems its true. this is a very good move for Che. He is going to experience top end english cricket at a time when the ball does move around a lot. Gillespie is a very good coach.

Plus he is not there all season. Just till Aaron Finch replaces him and he goes in the opposite way to represent India in SL
