Lot of batsmen will make the cut Gavaskar(Bangalore 87 anyone?),Vengsarkar, Srikanth(ended Qadir's career :haha:),Shastri, Azhar, Sidhu, Kambli, Ganguly, Sachin, Dravid, VVS, Sehwag, Gambhir, Dhoni and a host of others I am sure. None from the current team :giggle:

Amazing isnt it? While current Indian batsmen a few of them are sorta good against spin, no one is top-class-excellent in current Indian team against spinners? We used to have many batsmen who were Excellent in the past!!!

Sehwag ganguly and sidhu for me in terms of brutality. Vvs azhar and dravid played them more deftly. Sachin well he could play in both the moulds..

Didn't see Gavaskar's 87 but Sachin's 136 against Saqlain at his peak, Wasim and Waqar in Ahmedabad was the best display of batting on a spinning wicket that I've ever seen.

Laxman has a very good record against all great spinners he faced. Dravid struggled against Warne and Sachin against Saqlain and Murali.

Most Indian batsmen are excellent against spin. But Gavaskar's 96, on a viciously turning track in Bangalore against Pakistan, will remain etched in my mind. An absolute masterpiece. Overall...Sehwag's ability to destroy spinners would keep him in a different league than anybody else.

The best ever i saw against spin bowling, in terms of success, was Navjyot Sidhu. He simply would not be bothered by spin at all, no matter the track. Sehwag is a close second, only because he threw his wicket away to spinners so often by getting over-excited and trying to whack everything out of the park. Azharuddin, Tendulkar, Ganguly, Laxman, Shastri, Gavaskar, Vishwanath and Dravid are all top class players of spin and i would rank all of them in the top 20 players of spin in the history of test cricket.
