Pakistan money on Zim, risks Ind players

Pakistan board spending, huge chink of money in bringing Zim cricketers to plat in Lahore, who were internally helped/negotiated by Dav Whatmore This may be a master stroke by PCB as they see a oppurtunity in a series with Ind in the *** end of this year, and ask force Ind to play a match in Lahore, this may put India players in a huge risk if PCB makes out a deal with corrupt BCCI

Huh? If we play them, we will play them in UAE. That's it. They know it. We know it. The whole world knows it. Simultaneously, Pakistan is trying to slowly revive cricket in their home starting with Zim tour.

And you think this will help them revive ? They need to address root cause of the problem, not the symptons. Problem starts with their rendezvous with terrorism, and Nobody in the world sees them ending their love making to terrorism.

^ i doubt thats in the hands of the pcb.... They have done what they feel is the right thing. Which is aim to get the game back to their shores. Ie drum up local interest.

I think PCB is rushing too much. The Peshawar incident is still raw. Even a minor untoward incident this time, and Pakistan won't be hosting another international match for decades. If your hand is fractured you cannot fight the pain and play. You have to wait till the injury heals -in the same way Pakistan has to wait for terrorism to die out, no matter however long it takes. This is a big gamble. If it backfires Pakistan is finished.

Personally I don't think its going to help them much cos they have bigger issues to tackle first.

Exactly. We humans will try to find a way out no matter how dire the situation. We can see where they are coming from. Just not sure whether its the right move.

Its probably the right move long term. Obviously if they expect SA India Aus NZ England to tour Pak then they are off their rockers, but after Zimbabwe they will look to target BD to tour. Sri Lanka and WI may or may not tour. With SL you get a feeling that Sanga and Mahela were holding them back as they were on the bus. With these two gone I can see SL sending a team there. If SL send a team , none of whom are part of that incident then maybe. Its more of a diplomatic push rather than anything else. needless to say a terrorist attack in the zim tour and Pak can kiss cricket goodbye for a decade as a minimum.

What would their excuse be?
Um we dont wanna die? Why should a player like Kohli who has a hot actress girlfriend, makes millions in IPL, drives 2 crore sports cars and makes a fortune on endorsements risking playing in Lahore ....just because?

I don't see Aus, RSA, Eng, Ind,NZ touring Pak in the next 30-40 years at least, probably never. I really doubt whether terror will be wiped off their map. They will have to play these 5 countries in UAE or some other neutral venue for their home matches. But home matches against even the lightweights is a good step forward for them. It will ensure their players get to play in front of packed home support and will also keep the interest for cricket there alive. I hear football is making lot of strides there and cricket is fast losing popularity, to an extent the same is happening in India too. We can not afford another big team to decline like WI.

^ Cricket obv Pak's most popular sports but yeah in many Parks/Grounds in Rwp/Islamabad I see football trend heavily increasing, they getting more into football and things like clubs, challenges, even night tournaments been started... If cricket stays away from Pak + our team kept on performing this way for just few more time, I don't see any school/college kids getting inspired to play cricket like it used to be... It could be our next hockey, now we don't see a 'hockey stick' even in quite big sports shops...

That Pakistan is letting international terrorists roaming free inside their country . It's not exactly hard to find reasons to reject that tour

I do not think a series with India would be played in Lahore, but PCB could ask a ONEOFF T20 match with Ind on Lahore kind of thing might be squeezed around if a series happens in end of the year

You underestimate clout of BCCI; no one and i mean no one can force our player to play anywhere in the world. At the same time if they decide they will play in afghan then there will be a game in Afghanistan.

^ he probably asked for an excuse to not go UAE
Do you want to play India in UAE ? You do realize on these sub continent pitches we would get better than we were in aus .

At worst we will play our matches in UAE Zim touring or not touring has impact on BCCI
