Mariyam Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I mean what I posted mariyamjee - based on all your posts in various threads. If you keep posting/asking all crap questions' date=' then I am sorry - I don't have time[/quote'] I didn't ask any question whatsoever. I posted an article. A question, generally ends with a '?' . The first question in this series of posts was from your side.
Sachin=GOD Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 @kalia - chill. No need to be so touchy about a movie. Also, spreading any kind of religious agenda is the last thing Mariyam is here to do. @Mariyam - I would suggest that you watch the movie. Maybe then you would be in a better position to comment.
Kalia_Test Posted August 26, 2015 Author Posted August 26, 2015 I didn't ask any question whatsoever. I posted an article. A question, generally ends with a '?' . The first question in this series of posts was from your side. Do you now understand what a question is? See, that was a question. Notice the question mark? Bingo, another question, just for you!!!!! Anyways, your comments "Expected from Mariyamjee - Typical 'Hindu male is Evil personified' " were not only unoriginal, false, but also way out of line. More so, because I am married to a Hindu male. Whether you are married to Hindu male or a Jewish male or a Christian male or Muslim male is not the issue. ( Obviously - I am assuming you had a choice and you opted for the best :two_thumbs_up: ) The issue - in this thread - which is a thread about a movie - is you picked up the fringest opinion. The movie is much much more than than the FRINGE opinion you quoted. Watch it in a theatre near you. :two_thumbs_up: I know why you dont want to comment on Jodha Akbar rape though - does not fit in 'your' agenda :winky:

I am willing to chill but if someone comes and posts Rape of Avantika as her only post - difficult to resist. Especially when her mouth is shut on 'Rape of Jodha'. MAriyam has not even watched the movie but is qualified to post a random internet post? And then she tries to justify it? On a thread about one movie? What bullshit is this?

On a thread about one movie? What bullshit is this? Stop lying. That wasn't my first/only post in this thread. I had posted earlier too, when I asked Rett why he left out Jeevan from his list of famous Gujju actors, which, tbh, I'm surprised no one pointed out. Jeevan really was a top notch actor. The article (not a random internet post, mind you) isn't mine, but from the Hindu's business line. I think you should revisit some basic concepts like the meanings of the words "only" , "question", "internet post" and more over "justify" and then continue your online Jihad against Jodha Akbar.

Article might not be yours but it was YOUR decision to post, wasn't it? YOU need to revisit concepts. Everyone reading this thread have already seen why Mariyamjee is so reluctant to even condemn rape of Jodha in the movie Rape of Avanthika ( a fictional character in a fictional world in fictional time) = Mariyamji's agenda Rape of Jodha != Mariyamjee's agenda ( as it is by "us' )
zen Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 ------------------------------------- Anyway, what about Jodha Akbar movie ? Why is there no article called 'Rape of Jodha'? Maybe because the politically correct “secular” expectation is to celebrate a movie which asks us to be grateful to a bunch of Persianised Turkic-Mongol invaders and celebrate their love for coercing Hindu women into submission. According to this narrative, it is perfectly acceptable for a filmmaker to portray a Hindu princess as having willingly offered herself to a Mughal after marrying him under political compulsion and after having been unfairly accused of infidelity. We are also expected to demonstrate our faith in “liberal values” by buying the “seduction”, not rape, of Jodhaa by Akbar in a swordfight. It wouldn’t count as “rape” for these guardians of feminism because the Stockholm Syndrome apparent in such an equation is to be blithely ignored There is no point in throwing in random examples. Jodha was officially married to Akbar through a practice common in India - arranged marriage. Also in that era, polygamy was common not only among Muslims but Hindus as well. On the other hand, Bahubali is a fictitious story. The scene (B-grade level) discussed has the potential of leaving a bad taste in many people's mouth. Those two were not even married and that guy says "main tum he pyar karne ayao hoon" :hysterical: This thread keep throwing up new silly concepts. Now someone willingly offering herself to her husband after being married with the consent of all parties = a village idiot approaching a girl, saying "main tum he pyar karne ayao hoon" and forcefully undressing her to show her her beauty and explain to her the true meaning of her existence
Mariyam Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Article might not be yours but it was YOUR decision to post' date=' wasn't it?[/quote'] See, now that's a question. You've finally managed to figure out what a question is, bravo!!!! Now please tell us why lie about the article being my only post on this thread?
Yoda-esque Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Kalia - Its strange how you find nothing evil about Owaisi's agenda yet find something sinister about M's innocuous comment...
Mariyam Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Kalia - Its strange how you find nothing evil about Owaisi's agenda yet find something sinister about M's innocuous comment... I think I have it all figured out now. He is an undercover ISI agent whose twin missions are to destroy the tolerant Hyderabadi culture by espousing the cause of extremists like the Owaisis and diverting the minds of the otherwise productive Hyderabadi youth to watching meaningless masala movies like Bahubali thereby reducing the aggregate work output of the city.
Kalia_Test Posted August 26, 2015 Author Posted August 26, 2015 Kalia - Its strange how you find nothing evil about Owaisi's agenda yet find something sinister about M's innocuous comment... M's statement is NOT innocuous - You know it. I know it. All ICFers know it. SO lets keep that aside. On Owaisi ( strange as it may seem but Mariyam should be a bigger supporter of Owaisi based on her posts ) - - I never voted for Owaisi and never will. He is too extreme. However, he serves a purpose. - My posts were always about a parallel between muslim extremism vs hindu extremism and I am opposed to both ( something that Mariyamjee can find out with a bit of search - someone accusing me of being a supporter of hardcore muslim fundamentalist Owaisi should make her realize that a poster is not biased) - On Owaisi - simple fact that I believe - we need balance - if India is all Hindu , then it is NOT India. India is hindus + muslims + sikhs + buddhists + whoever else. ALL have equal rights. I don't agree with all of Owaisi's agenda but think carefully as an Indian - If people like Owaisi are not there to somewhat channelize some opinions in a legal, constitutional way - what will be the situation in India from a Law and Order perspective?

Meanwhile you can watch Salman Khan ( or any other Khan ) flicks and be proud. They are all meaningfull ALWAYS and Khan movies never have any masala - they are always fresh veggies + milk :two_thumbs_up: You can also setup a forum to despouse Bahubali and venerate how Mughal-Tughlaq-Turkish invaders were champions in women liberation - like abolition of triple talaq..Ooops.
moniker Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I find this an interesting take on a certain scene in the movie. Haven't seen the movie yet' date=' but have to agree with the gist of what the author is saying here. You may need to see the movie to form an educated opinion. This has already been discussed in this thread. http://www.firstpost.com/bollywood/why-the-love-scene-between-prabhas-and-tamannah-in-baahubali-is-not-rape-2373868.html
Gollum Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Kalia, Mariyam is a top poster and from what I have seen she is really secular. Never does she play this Hindu-Muslim cr@p. I have been in this forum for a few years now and I have always found her to be a rational minded knowledgeable person always eager for constructive debate and willing to expand her horizon. In fact I would say that other posters have a lot to learn from her viz a viz tolerance and etiquette. You too are a great poster, so am really surprised to see you lash out this way. May be you love Rajamouli and Bahubali so much that you have become overly sensitive to any perceived criticism or different opinion. Whatever it is I am sure she didn't mean to antagonize you in any way, chill man. Most of us here loved the movie. In fact this is my 1st Telegu movie and I believe it has set the bar for Hindi, other regional movies in this genre. :icflove:
coffee_rules Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 These issues have already been discussed. South Indian movies especially Tollywood movies don't respect women as much. Anything goes for them. In one Mahesh Babu movie, he says to the girl, "nee color yenti naa color yenti?"!!! Roughly translates to .. Look at yourself and me, but is such a low blow. This didn't start with Bahubali. The article also mentions Kick which was a copy of a Tollywood movie. It's how directors think what the male audience likes to watch and it is highly deplorable.

And even in this thread, it is quite evident IMO. Liking a movie has nothing to do with my reaction. Many have criticized the movie in this thread itself and I had no issue with their opinion ( leaving aside a bit of petty harmless trolling which we all indulge once in a while ). It is the selective picking up of a fringe opinion ( on a movie that she has not even watched) and posting and even refusing to acknowledge that far worse has been portrayed already that is cringe-worthy. If this is 'secular', we have set the bar too low.

Temujin Khaghan Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 There is racism and male chauvinistic behavior in all Indian movies The same author Anna MM Vetticad has written about male chauvinistic behavior in blockbuster Bollywood movies too. read this, another article of the same author...
