The HINDU : " According to a source, the decision to convert the complaint into a criminal case under relevant Sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) pertaining to cheating had figured at the very top of recent deliberations held between senior Delhi Police officials, representatives of the Union Ministry of Home and Delhi Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung earlier this month. The Hindu has leant that details pertaining to “progress in investigation” in the case were routinely sought by the Ministry from Delhi Police since the receipt of the complaint in the matter, but had gradually gathered steam with the ongoing tussle between the L-G’s Office and the Delhi government over the past fortnight. Many years ago an academically brilliant friend was shocked to find he was declared absent on the Marksheet once the results of his University exams were released. What recourse did he have ? He spent months trying to convince the University he had indeed appeared for his examinations . After a while he quit and completed his degree through correspondence.

Can you be please direct in what you are trying to say. Do you mean Tomar was academically brilliant and it is the fault of University to somehow miss his name, you know how stupid this sounds. This is height of bhaktigiri.

No doubt AAP hasn't come out well in this fiasco like it had in previous cases like that farmer's suicide etc. I don't see a reason for which Kejriwal backed this guy even after knowing that there is some controversy around this guy's degrees. You can't afford to have a weak point when you know that by challenging whole corrupt system you have made enemies everywhere be it BJP, Congress, Delhi Police. This is vendetta action by Delhi police but they seem to unearth a legal reason to do that. Creation of fake degree amount to a cognizable and a non-bailable offence and Delhi Police has right (though not a obligation) to arrest a person after having some prima facie evidence. Politically, it may not be very sound move by BJP. It has further increased resentment in Delhi public and more peopel believe that BJP is misappropriating power and insulting their mandate. It is almost laughable that Modi govt. couldn't find a reason to get much maligned Robert Vadra arrested but could easily find a reason to arrest somebody for fake degrees.

Yea, BJP made Tomar fake his degree. And Delhi public have given up on Kejriwal, most don't think he will be capable of completing his whole term. If AAPtards wanted to make a case of this, they should have raised the example of Sonia/Rahul fake degree. But nope, Kejriwal and his blind bhakts have no audacity to take on these Gandhi family.

Modi govt is getting AAP minister arrested for alleged fake degree. But not doing anything against these Gandhis. Why ?

Well, your dear Gandhis also had a fake degree, wouldn't it make sense for you to raise it? Why are you and your lord, Kejriwal so afraid of Gandhis? And last time, I checked it is Delhi Police who are doing their usual work, not Modi govt. And if your Kejriwal was honest, he should resign right away as his minister is a fraud.

Jitendra Tomar – AAP Fake Hain Good article, particular these questions. 1. How does supporting a person with fake degree count as crusade against corruption? 2 How does the Delhi LG come into picture in this case? 3. Why is Delhi police being vilified when they are just doing their jobs? 4. How does a person with a fake degree continue as the Law Minister of Delhi? 5. Why wasn’t Tomar asked to step down when this case was first brought to public notice? 6. Why is the Delhi Government accusing the Delhi Police instead of cooperating with them? 7. How does Modi Government become the prime accused for an order initiated by the Bar Council of Delhi High Court?

Memebers of same bar Council (i.e. Lawyer brigade) roughed up and assaulted BJP CM candidate Kiran Bedi campaign members during the recently concluded Delhi election.

Delhi court rejects ex-Delhi law minister Jitender Tomar's bail plea

In a further setback for former Delhi law minister Jitender Singh Tomar, arrested for allegedly producing fake law and BSc degrees, a Delhi court on Thursday rejected his interim bail application, saying it will further complicate the matter in the present circumstances. The Saket court also dismissed Tomar's plea challenging his police remand in the case. The court, however, allowed him to file a fresh appeal. Delhi police suspects the involvement of a fake degree racket in the case. Cops raided an educational institute in Delhi's Rohini area late on Wednesday inorder to probe the role of the institute in the fake degree case. Sources said the New Universal Institute has remained locked since the AAP minister was taken into custody. The Delhi Police will be taking Tomar to Munger (Bihar) from where he claimed to have got his law degree. Tomar, in his affidavit, had claimed that he got his Bachelor of Science degree from Awadh University in Faizabad and LLB or bachelor of law from the Bishwanath Singh Institute of Legal Study College, Munger, affiliated to the Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University in Bihar. The RML Awadh University on Wednesday denied having any record of Tomar. Stating its willingness to cooperate with the ongoing probe into the case, the university stood by its earlier stand saying Tomar's BSc degree was a forged one. "One Pradeep Kumar had filed an RTI asking for verification of a set of documents related to Tomar's marksheets and degree. The university had replied on January 22 saying it had nothing of that sort in its records. We stand by our previous stand," university's media in-charge SN Shukla said. In Delhi, police commissioner Bassi claimed that a nearly month-long investigation found that Tomar not only submitted fake science graduation degree and law marksheets to register with the Bar Council of Delhi but forged a migration certificate also. "The possibility of an organised racket behind the alleged fake degrees is being probed," he said. "Whether he (Tomar) made them himself or did he procure it from somewhere? If they were procured from somewhere, it will be important to zero down on the person who provided him these documents and if there is a racket, then who else did they provide such documents?" Bassi said.

Now this is unnecessary
How? The question mark is on judicial system. How someone with fake degree can practice it right under their nose? I wouldn't be surprised he be made example to deter any one acquiring fake law degree. Also he is being linked closely with racketeers itself

JST won't run away or something, so IMO he is certainly entitled for bail under the sections he is booked.
