Malcolm Merlyn Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 So Dhoni keeps selecting his CSK mates.Out of 11 players 5 are from CSK.While there can be no question mark on Raina,Dhoni and Ashwin. Jadeja keeps playing despite doing nothing for a long time.He hasnt scored a 50 for a long time and his bowling is useless these days. Mohit Sharma is only fit to play on wickets which have something for the bowlers.On SC wickets he hasnt done anything.Gives away @10 runs per over. Next comes the baffling selection of Rahane.The guy has played 54 ODIs and avgs 31 with a SR of 77.How long will he be selected with such kind of stats?Yes he is a class Test player but that doesnt mean he has to be dragged on in ODIs. The loss in the 1st ODI means we are behind Bangladesh and the weather suggests that atleast one of the ODIs is going to be washed out.So the best we can do is draw a series with BAN.

Even with all the nonsense we do, we could have won the game if we picked that guy's cutters. That's a bigger issue for us now. The series is at stake and we don't want another Mendis situation.

HippoSucks Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Mohit Sharma was picked because Shami is injured. Obviously he will be replaced once Shami is fit, so it isn't a big issue. Rahane I think needs to be tried at #3. He doesn't look to be good under pressure in ODIs, so at #3 he has a little more freedom and can bat in a relaxed manner. Jadeja should probably go soon though.

Mohit was useless and same old story with the lower middle order batting. :banghead: Considering the weather forecast, it could be a draw :mad: Kohli needs to start scoring big now :orderorder: Batting is almost entirely dependent on Kohli/Rohit and to some extent Dhawan/Raina. We are regressing as an ODI side.
