diga Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 could not help noticing captains skin colour vs that depicted in the poster ps: apologies if someone is offended
randomGuy Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Fact: Yoga = a part of Hinduism. And those who wouldn't do yoga because of this fact are pitiable human beings.
G_B_ Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 How is this in his private capacity? That burden of proof game is easy to play. By definition, when a person has a verified Twitter account - everything that their posts is public. In this case, Madhav's account is verified because of his position in Indian politics; he's not an artist. His personal or professional position is least of the concerns here. Let me tell you how the unnecessary drama unfolded T1 : Madhav Allegation Madhav makes two allegations - (1) RS TV not showing the yoga event and (2) Ansari not attending T2 : Lie1 caught VP's office issued a statement saying that he was not invited. According to protocol, VP attends when invited. T3 : Lie 2 caught RSTV CEO tweets out that falsifying Madhav's RSTV claim https://twitter.com/gurdeepsappal/status/612634702185398272 T4 : Madhav deletes his earlier tweet and posts this T5 : That T4 is a lie too Ansari was not sick, he wasn't just invited. What do you conclude? Madhav is a chewtiya and it is no surprise he is the BJP National Secretary. His illustrious company includes Nobel Prize Winning laureates on xenophobia like Giriraj Singh and Yogi Adityanath. Finally, clarification of what from Ansari? VP doesn't attend events which he isn't invited BY PROTOCOL! Moreover, VP has entire right to deny an event without ANY clarification. Again look at the tweets he has posted. He is asking a question. He starts his tweets with "Did" He even says "Two questions". What more do you want from him? Twitter is most certainly not the avenue to say if something is loaded or not. There are limited characters in which to compose your tweet. The second tweet is a lie. But again maybe some of his followers on twitter tweeted that Ansari was not well. Its not as if he is saying Pm Modi told me...xyz. The clarification I need from the VP, did he yoga in his house or he has any issues against yoga. Its clear that protocol was followed in the VP not attending the event.
G_B_ Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Almost all senior IAS officers gave the event a miss - I read that in ToI & HT today. Ram Madhav didn't ask any question about that. Thats the thing about freedom of speech. I am free to ask what i want. As is Ram Madhav. All i see on this thread are people making accusations based on assumptions. He actually meant "xyz" You think a Govt function where the PM is the main guest is the same as birthday of grandchildren? Also, it is only in his own family functions that he can go in his personal capacity - everywhere else he has to go as the Vice President of India whether he (or the Govt) likes it or not. And again you are forgetting that he is the Vice President of India - he cannot go to such a HUGE function unless he has been invited by the Govt and arrangements (be it his name on the card or a seat on the stage etc) have been done. It would be extremely improper for the VP to 'unofficially' go to such an event (or for that matter any event). If its such a big office, he can certainly organise his own event right? Its not as if he lives in a 10 by 10 shack. If i was him i would certainly have organised my own event in the capacity as the VP suit the glorious status of my office. I would have invited some under prevailed children from the nearby schools in Delhi and done yoga with them in an official event. If he has done that then kudos to him. If he has not then I am afraid he is pretty useless as a Vice President (this is my view) And why exactly would you want a clarification from him? The event was OPTIONAL, he was NOT INVITED so why is there any problem if he didn't do yoga? Why does Hamid Ansari have to give an explanation for missing a VOLUNTARY thing where the Govt didn't even invite him to any function. Also, since the entire event was Modi's brainchild and was organized by AYUSH ministry, the VP couldn't have done his own thing - they should/could have organized an event for him. There was an event for the President at Rashtrapati Bhawan - it was organized by Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga which is fully funded by the Govt of India, AYUSH Ministry. If the Govt could organize an event for the PM, President then why is it that the Vice President should have had to organize his own event in his personal capacity? They could organize functions in so many countries across the world, spend crores and crores on Ads but they can't invite the Vice President of India or organize an event for him? They either didn't want him to come or forgot about him. Either ways it is the Govt, and not the VP at fault here. Again, in my reply to DM, did he actually do yoga in his house. Does he have a problem with doing yoga. These are the clarifications I seek. I have answered the organisation issue.
G_B_ Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Reading some of the posts above I got the impression that Ram Madhav may have murdered the Vice President. Upon quuckly looking up the news, I was relieved to find out that it was only a Tweet. Absolutely. Its about time we make assumptions ourselves and state that this is much more than Ram Madhav making a comment or a tweet. It is about seculars scoring brownie points (in their mind). During the republic day parade, I too had a big question mark as to why Ansari did not salute the flag. If i was a BJP general secretary i would most certainly have tweeted "Why did VP not salute the flag just now?" I am sure that seculars would scream their heads of , accusing me of bigotry.
mishra Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 ^ Government has apologized to VP over deleted tweets from Maadhav. I am sure Maadjhav must have been disciplined too.
Raghav_12 Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Again look at the tweets he has posted. He is asking a question. He starts his tweets with "Did" He even says "Two questions". The clarification I need from the VP, did he yoga in his house or he has any issues against yoga. Its clear that protocol was followed in the VP not attending the event. what right you have to ask him whether he does yoga or not in his house? this is his personal choice and if he doesn't choose to give a voluntary declaration of his preferences nobody has right to ask him whether he does that or not? And where you have learnt that questions of personal nature fall under ambit of freedom of speech? I wish it was the case, I always wanted to ask few personal questions from very specific people. Whether VP does yoga or not, nobody's business and it is insulting to put him or for that matter any person, under scanner on yoga test. This is not much different from the practice where some of the Talibani's majorities force minorities to wear symbols openly declare their religious affiliation. Similarly you are suggesting that VP should be forced to declare his personal choices because you suspect that his personal choices are determined by his own religious beliefs and don't align with personal choices what Modi govt wants people to have. Logically speaking, VP's quizzing of yoga would not have ended with the question whether he does yoga or not? In case of answer being no, next logical question would have been, he doesn't do so because he think that Yoga is a hindu thing? This hounding of honourable by some Ram Madhav would have continued. Even BJP has admitted real intent behind the question so you can imagine how blatant this has been.

These are the clarifications I seek. I have answered the organisation issue. Since you have brought up freedom of speech, think about this - the yoga event was voluntary, the Vice Prez was not invited to any event, no event was organized at his house - so he was totally FREE to do yoga or not to do it. Simple question - if the Govt can organize official functions for the PM, Prez and in so many countries then why did they ignore the Vice Prez? Why is it that the president was not expected to 'organize his own event'? The Govt could contact hundreds of NGOs, the armed forces etc to get more and more people to come to various events all over the country but it couldn't organize an event for the Vice President of the country..... and then he is the one who is blamed for not doing Yoga, which BTW, was voluntary. The simple truth is that Hamid Ansari is a CONGRESS APPOINTED MUSLIM Vice Prezv that is why he is expected to show his loyalty to the Govt by organizing his own event or worse still, 'unofficially drop in' at the event where the PM was the chief guest even as the Govt totally ignored him by neither inviting him to any official function nor organizing a function for him at his residence. The whole Yoga Day was the PM's initiative carried out by the AYUSH ministry (and BJP) - the VP was not involved in it at all so why should he have done his own event? If the Govt wanted him to take part in its initiative then it was the Govt's responsibility to either invite him to a function or organize one at his house - Govt did neither of those things so the VP didn't do yoga. Also, the VP asking to do his own event when the Govt had ignored him would have been seen as an attempt to get media attention etc by him. He did the absolute right and dignified thing in the situation - quietly stayed at home and told about not being invited only when someone from the BJP asked questions about his absence. Why the hell should the Vice Prez tell anyone whether he did yoga or not. If the Govt wanted him to do yoga then it should have made arrangements for the same. Since the Govt did not make any such arrangements, they have no right to ask him whether he did yoga or not, and if he did not do yoga then why he didn't do it.
Sachin=GOD Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 There was a separate event for him, there were instructors and there were many people doing yoga yet Amit Shah chose to sit on a chair and watch the proceedings. Let's see if Ram Madhav questions him.
punjabi_khota Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 i see that there is a heated discussion going on here.. lets watch how the captain does yoga.. :hehe: mf2NF6zgu9Q :hysterical::hysterical: Whats up with the all the nodding gestures and **** ?
G_B_ Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 what right you have to ask him whether he does yoga or not in his house? this is his personal choice and if he doesn't choose to give a voluntary declaration of his preferences nobody has right to ask him whether he does that or not? The fundamental right to freedom of speech. He is free not to answer. But that does mean I have no right to ask. And where you have learnt that questions of personal nature fall under ambit of freedom of speech? I wish it was the case, I always wanted to ask few personal questions from very specific people. Similarly you are suggesting that VP should be forced to declare his personal choices because you suspect that his personal choices are determined by his own religious beliefs and don't align with personal choices what Modi govt wants people to have. see my first answer. I dont think you have understood what freedom of speech means. As i said before he has the right not to answer. Provided I dont hurl abuses at him, I am well within my rights to ask him. If he feels its a bit too personal and does not even like facing questions he should resign. Logically speaking, VP's quizzing of yoga would not have ended with the question whether he does yoga or not? When was the last time Ram Madhav hounded anybody? Its not as if he is a serial offender.

[/quote'] Yes he was. I dont hold it against him for no doing yoga. Point out any post where i have said he must do yoga. That is your truth my friend. Keep in mind the BJP have appointed Kalam another Muslim president. So this "he is a victim" stand needs to stop. For all we know not inviting the VP was a security issue whereby should anything happen to the president the VP would take over his duties. As i have said on this thread, Ram Madhav has been instrumental in getting somebody like Sajjid Lone who was a separatist on board. The problem is you seem to put too much emphasis on words (supposed words and its not even clear cut) than concrete deeds and actions. Maybe you need to read this before commenting on Madhav BJP-PDP alliance in J&K: How two men worked out the deal and became friends http://indianexpress.com/article/india/politics/the-alliance-that-almost-wasnt/ The very fact that Madhav was able to bring the PDP on board on various issues tells me there was no malice in his tweet. I base that on actual actions and not some random misplaced moment of outrage. Again its about options. He IMO had the means and the option to organise his own event. Had he the inclination he certainly could have. If i was VP i would be more proactive and seize the initiative. Its entirely upto him. Your missing the point about refusal to answer a question.

I am criticising the act, not the actror. Because he did something right in past, doesn't mean that he is allowed to make frivolous comment like this. I am appreciative of the role he played in stiching together BJP-PDP alliance and probably you would know that this one act of alliance with PDP by Modi I had supported wholeheartedly. He made a mistake here. BJP admitted that it was a mistake and apologised. Let's be honest with that instead of defending his act in garb of freedom of speech or any other lame excuse.

kabbirann Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 I,a sikh, learnt yoga in Bhopal. While the main guy was hindu, fair few of the senior instructors were muslim. Trust the jan sanghi's to taint and make repulsive everything that is good about hinduism.
Sachin=GOD Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 The VP was neither invited to any Yoga Day function nor was any function organized for him but still Modi Bhakts found reason to question/criticize him for not doing yoga. Now the President is holding an Iftar Party on Wednesday evening and Modi has been invited. He won't attend due to 'previous commitments' - lets see how many Modi Bhakts question/criticize him for not going to an event where he has been invited by the Prez.
