And inspired by a true story .... If I am not wrong, someone has bought the rights to make this one in Hindi as well! :hatsoff:

Donal Cozzie Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Another neat foreign film I saw was run Lola run from Germany. My German teacher showed it to us. Very short (like 70 mins IIRC) but quite good. There was also an Italian film called I'm not scared, which was excellent. Definitely recommended

If I m not wrong, at one point it was the highest grossing German film :dontknow:

It sort of reminded me of Driving Miss Daisy. I have not seen The Prey and I'm not Scared but I liked all the other movies mentioned here better than Intouchables.

Also, I just remembered - the handicapped white guy from Intouchables is in "Ne le dis àpersonne" aka Tell No one, a movie I watched some time ago. Decent movie. I also watched A Prophet 1-2 years ago and found it enjoyable. BTW, just finished watching Le Samourai. Found it a bit stark and dark for my taste. I like the theme and story, but felt like it seemed more like a stage play than a movie. It is a totally different language and theme but one foreign movie that I watched recently and liked a lot is "Dragon", a 2011 movie featuring Donnie Yen. The scenery was mesmerizing and unlike other action movies, the hero character has depth and is well developed.

His movies will not have edge-of-seat actions. They'll be like minimalist crime dramas with noirish feel. If you have liked Le Samourai, check out his Le Doulos, The Red Circle, Army of Shadows, Bob le flambeur, Second Breath.
