Bigg Brother Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Indian test team captain Virat kohli's poor form is matter of concern. We arent reading into that much and giving importance to whether Rohit would play or not,who will be our 5th bowler etc...But For me Kohli's poor form is huge concern for us.Its been since ipl2014. The last time we saw real"Kohli" in action was in wt20 2014.He has never been same after being "Anderson" bunny. Scored century against Pakistan in wc but wasn't convincing. Averages only 31 in 2015 odis. Not even a single half century in last 10 innings in odis. Will he ever be back? Average 31 is not a poor form statistically but the standard he has set for himself are too high.
Bigg Brother Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 Yes. What if he is not as good as we think he is? No indian would think that he is not that good after playing so many match winning knocks for us at such tender age.:(
moniker Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Poor test form? His last few test innings read: 14, 147, 46, 169, 54, 19, 1, 115, 141. He had a stellar tour of Australia "after being Anderson's bunny". Who cares if he performed well in the IPL or not? He hardly does well in IPL. And I think it is foolish to extrapolate ODI form to tests. Let him play a few full fledged test series as captain before coming to a conclusion.
Precambrian Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Not worried at all. Its good hes experiencing this slump now. He's got immense character and attitude, and am quite sure he'll realize sooner than later that cricket > duckface. Same goes for Pujara as well. These guys are cornerstones of our lineup in a few years. I think 1-2 years. Believe me.
adi B Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I am only worried that he doesn't play patiently enough in tests and goes for his shots too often.needsto grind out and fight,he has the ability though(that ton at Nagpur agains England showed his resilience)
tweaker Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 He will come good in the test series,he is putting too much pressure on himself
sourab10forever Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Yes ,worried. Bangladesh,A tour game and then this practice match.Esp cuz they were in the subcontinent. But also that pressure is what gets the best of kholi..we'll have to see his performance in some near pressure game to confirm if he is in the danger zone IMO.

sensible-indian Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Maybe as some here put it...if Virat can get over this Anushka nonsense, he could get back his focus.
Pagalpanti Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015  Yes he's finished just like when Junaid found him out in 2012. Oh wait...
moniker Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Maybe as some here put it...if Virat can get over this Anushka nonsense' date=' he could get back his focus.[/quote'] Yeah, and every other cricketer who's either married or has a girlfriend has razor sharp focus. It's just Virat's relationship with Anushka (particularly Anushka!) that's "nonsense". We as concerned cricket fans are absolutely right about talking more about what goes on in his private life than stick to discussion on cricket.
div Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Maybe as some here put it...if Virat can get over this Anushka nonsense' date=' he could get back his focus.[/quote'] sensible-indian :hmmm: Anushka isn't his first girlfriend.Because she is a film actress, media has hyped their relationship.
Marut Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Maybe as some here put it...if Virat can get over this Anushka nonsense' date=' he could get back his focus.[/quote'] Probably irrelevant.
maniac Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Nope not at all....true match winner and the right attitude....exactly what we need after the dhoni dark days

sensible-indian Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Why did Vinod Kambli fizzle out? Partly cricket reasons and partly that he couldn't handle success. Didn't Sachin mention something related to that? That he had people who kept him grounded but same can't be said of Kambli. We think sport people are robots. But they are humans too with flaws like us.

I think it is not the issue. We are reading too much into that.
