He is even contacting us and challenged us to go to police etc and even said that he will kidnap my cousins and do bad things to them. We really don't have an idea as to what should be done right now. We have contacted a lawyer, he told us to wait for sometime and see what happens next and if things don't change then we should take necessary actions. We have enough contacts with people who can right away go and beat up that person but that won't be a very wise decision, I suppose. Please please advice us on this ... please

Dont do stuff like that. Use your contacts (if you have) to go to higher-up police authority (asst. commissioner, commisioner) and get it handled via the police.

Exactly that is what weare thinking of doing too. But you know na that indian mentality of 'izzat utar jayegi agar police me gaye to' .... THis really pisses me off. I really thought our family don't have that typical indian mentality but I was wrong.

Post it here unless something personal is on the profile that you don't want icf members to see. Maybe pm the ones you trust. I for one will be happy to help using all the accounts in the household.

Please please advice us on this ... please This issue appears to be more like someone threatening your cousins by using FB as the medium. The question is why is this being done? a) Look internally - Has your cousin(s) done something to piss anyone off lately? b) Look externally - What benefit would someone gain by threatening your cousins (and indirectly your family)? If the person was serious about the threats of kidnapping, he probably would have done that silently instead of announcing his intentions on FB. So at this point, this appears to be more like an attempt to put some kind of pressure on your cousin / family. We have enough contacts with people who can right away go and beat up that person but that won't be a very wise decision, I suppose. So you know who the person is? Which means you (or your family) would know why that person is doing this (and its seriousness). And in that case, your family would know whether to go to police. Assuming that something sinister could be in play, sooner or later, your family will need to get professional help.
