Test squad for SA series...what's ur pick?

Same squad that we have had here except may be Ojha replacing Harbhajan or a spinner all-rounder replacing Binny. Mishra/Ashwin/Umesh/Ishant or +Aaron/Ojha/spinner-allrounder if we are considering 5 bowlers. 3 spinners may not be that useful (except if the 3rd spinner is also a decent bat) as 2 of them would end up bowling long spells. Mishra and Ashwin may do a decent job. Ishant seems to have improved considerably in recent times. I was impressed with the rhythm with which he was bowling. Will consider Shami for ODIs. From whatever I've seen of him, he doesn't seem to have the capacity to bowl long spells in test cricket with intensity. Also has got a very strenuous run up that puts a lot of stress on his legs. Besides he's still recuperating from a knee surgery. Best to have him exclusively for ODIs

Else Pujara takes his spot. Openers should be under pressure and replaced by Rahul if they fail. It is very unfortunate but at the same time Dhawan, Vijay have earned right to start. Ofcourse if Rahul gets another 100 in 3rd test he starts ahead of Dhawan. After all he has more potential and is better for future overseas tours. Let Shami recover properly and play FC matches first. No need to rush a fast bowling talent like him and risk further injury. I would move Saha to 6 and Ashwin to 7 above Jadeja. Why I think Jaddu will succeed with ball? He bowls fast and when pitch starts to turn he has 2 balls, the straight one and the turner. Some turn big. All at fast speed and all with great accuracy. It is destined to cause problems like vs Aus. It's only when pitch is not turning and he only has 1 ball (straight relatively no turn dart) he performs poor. On a 5th day of a test such conditions are unlikely. Other benefits of Jaddu compared to Binny: -Much better economy, more pressure -Finishes overs very quickly, no over rate issue though it rarely matters in SC with so many spinners

Much of this analysis is quite apt but it applies to pre-surgery Jaddu; post-surgery version is a pale shadow.

middle order nagging indian batting issue Vijay ji, Your thought is well balanced regarding team selection but after shoulder injury,Jadeja not same bowler anymore, it is more risky to try him vs AMLA and sons. I would like karn Sharma or AXer patel,they both deserved to play multiday or test cricket now.I believed rohit,nair,cheteshwar,rahul will be on and off from the next 5 test matches.I heard Vijay shankar is also promising all rounder in making just like GANGULY. India should try karn Sharma first on 3 spinner choice, if he not performs, we have Patel and p. Oza,for other option.Those day's over ,when players sit in the team doing nothing.either performs or go. I would prefer specialist keeper in the side and Saha,is best with the bat too just like shammi, as bowler Mohd.Shammi,must need for India because he has ability to take lumsum wickets in single innings which help spinner to be more effective Recently Australia lost ashes because, Harris was not in the team coz injury and retirement and p. SIDDLE missed selection.In the past Chandrasekhar claims more wicket coz other spinner bowl very tight spell from other ends.ishant Sharma bowl half a day and not take wickets coz he never get support from bowler like Aaron etc.not good for test matches on docile wickets.I would like only one seam bowler in India test matches, you may notices,ashwin was given new ball in Asia. In the mid,70's Abid Ali and solkar,bowl hardly 2 overs in India and soon spin bowler take charge.why we need ishant Sharma in India, just let promising all rounder in the side for futures, we needs all rounder.BINNY good for ODI only.
