fineleg Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 A well played 75 by Monk in context of the match?(His LBW from what it appears is a bit doubtful, so possible century taken away by umpire). Nevertheless, a good 75 in this pitch, played cautiously?
Forever Indian Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Very good innings with wickets falling around him. According to me has the best technique in current test team.
fineleg Posted November 6, 2015 Author Posted November 6, 2015 He has been consistent in Tests, and we need a solid partner to pair with him for opening the innings. Shikar Dhawan is airy fairy, who else is a possible mentally strong steady opener? (Sorry I have some doubts abt mental strength and alertness of KLR but perhaps he can be tried for a series or two)
rkt.india Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 Rahul two test hundreds already and you have doubts! You know how likes of Kohli and Rahane started their test careers.
beetle Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 His 75 in this match worth at least 150.24 carat runs.I think he is out best bat right now.
fineleg Posted November 6, 2015 Author Posted November 6, 2015 rkt - despite the centuries, I have some reservation. Not ruling KLR out, but I have some reservation, lets see, maybe I'm wrong.
CoverDrive Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 rahul will fare better than Dhawan at this stage
fineleg Posted November 6, 2015 Author Posted November 6, 2015 ^ Better than Dhawan - for sure. Absolutely.Dhawan is a laughable hack.
Mosher Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 Murali and Rahane are our MVP's. This 75 is worth its weight in gold. Hopefully he will score even more runs in the 2nd innings.
coffee_rules Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 Rahul got 2 100s in Aus and SL, still in doubt over Firefighter Shikhar, because of range of single digit scores. He has to improve temperment, if Dhawan keeps failing, Rahul has to be given more chances.
