Why Sran ahead of Ankiet? Rajasthan conspiracy?

Well...

I don't have any issues with sran being selected but i was thinking that Ankiet, at this point of time, is head of Sran (having said that both of them are left arm bowlers).....also Ankiet seems to have better speed as compared to Sran (i am talking about avg speed)....and both of them are more or less "hit the deck" kind of bowlers...

Selectors are still ignoring players from Rajastan...?

Sran performed well in the Vijay Hazare trophy ( 50 over games ) and picked up 14 wickets from 6 matches....whereas Aniket was injured .

A.Chaudhury has done well in Ranji whereas this team is for ODIs.

It could be this factor in play.

I have not seen saran except for one video..he did bowl one 140k ball n seems a hit the deck Ishan't type bowler.

These type bowlers who r hit the deck n get good bounce are likely to be good in Australia but only if they are 139 k or more on average.

Ishan't will definitely be 140k on average there and with his height n sudden good length can make him good.

Pak bowler irfan is very effective when he bowls 140k and easy meat at 137k...similiar let's see how does bran bowl

Aniket is injured I guess because he didn't play VH trophy.

Was checking just now...

Aniket has played only 2 List A matches in his career. Difficult to pick a guy based on that, especially because he has been around for 4 years +.

Sran has played just 7 List A matches too. Picked 15 wickets though which is very good.

But...has an economy rate of 6.31... he is not that accurate yet. One more year in domestic cricket would have done him good.

that's what worries me. I personally think sran is not ready.

He is too raw.

One bad series and he may be forgotten....and that would be sad because he has the basic qualities to succeed in internationals.

maybe this call up can inspire him to perform plus Aussie pitches will certainly assist him, that is if he gets a game :cantstop:

Let's hope for the best.

Having known dhoni.....in all likelihood he will not get a game.........

Can't remember the UP bowler's name.....but he warmed bench for so long that he forgot bowling............LOL

Is Sran 135k bowler? (most common speed for him when he bowls 10 over spells - is it 135? not talking abt the rare effort ball)

I don't think we have seen him enough to make such specific observations.

It is possible that his most common ODI speed will be around 137 k ( although I may be wrong on this ).

This sran might be a surprise package.... There was never a buzz for sreeshanth ishant rp or even bhuvi when they came in and they did pretty well for a brief time on the other hand hyped up crap like vinay and Pankaj showed us to never beleive the hype.

so fingers crossed.

also when we have gone back to nehra and yuvi would have been a good gamble to try irfan again as I beleive he is still the best allrounder in the country by a mile.

isnt he in good form lately?

anyways going back to sran... No expectation whatsoever.... Might not even get a go.... But again he is a 130k bowler so Dhoni and his fingers might give him a shot.

He is as quick as Shami, not like Aaron or Yadav but he is a left armer which goes in his favor. Hope, they dont discard him after this tour because he is just a youngster making his way out.

Irfan is injured again. Sran bowls up to low 140s.
