zen Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 Will there be dew? It's a night match.I would guess so (which is one of the reasons Dhoni would prefer to bowl first) .... But not sure how bad it would be
zen Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 From cricinfo: Pitch and conditions The Kolkata track for the Afghanistan-Sri Lanka match offered the spinners grip and slow turn. The quick fizzers and googlies from Rashid Khan, a legspinner in the mould of Afridi, also skidded on and tied down the opposition. A similar pitch is in the offing.

I am hoping for a WT20 2012, WT20 2014, CT 2013, Asia Cup 2016 performance - Once Pakistan loses a few early wickets they get under so much pressure that they are unable to recover and make a far below par total which we chase down. Hope Nehra/Bumrah/Ashwin squeeze out a few in the PP. Don't see them really recovering from there.

It's the fifth bowler and Nehra at the death which can hurt us. Nehra though manages to squeeze out a wicket in his opening overs which is why he is an OK pick I believe. Pandya may get hit so I hope Yuvi does well with the ball. Dhoni is not changing the team anyways.

Adi_91 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Agree. But wouldn't Dhoni prefer to bowl first anyways? While Afridi would prefer to bat first. In a pressure game, batting first will be a better option.
deathmonger Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Bumrah will get wacked hard!Don't think so. He is truly a good bowler and better lineups have failed. 16 wickets at 16.12 with an economy of 5.93 off 12 matches is no fluke. It's been got against different oppositions on different pitches. The only Pakistani bowler who is better, at least in T20Is is Amir.I know Pakistanis don't like admitting that Indian bowlers are good but Jadeja, Ashwin and Bumrah are quality. If anyone is getting whacked it's the 5th bowler and Nehra. Mosher 1
Singh bling Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Dhoni and Ravi shastri should look carefully at pitch and then they should decide team ,NZ did very well because they did that in their gamesSent from my HM NOTE 1LTE using Tapatalk
zen Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 We will see how good of a bowler he is tommrow. Shahzad Kohli will score big against him.Are you implying that If Ind batsmen score against Pak bowlers, you would accept that Pak bowlers are not good?
Adi_91 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 I know MSD won't make any changes, but a food for thought is to play an extra spinner since it is almost a given that the track is slow and takes spin.Maybe play Negi in place of a quick, possibly Nehra.

Ideally, Bhajji should play in place of Nehra or Pandya if the pitch has turn

Ideally, Bhajji should play in place of Nehra or Pandya if the pitch has turn I am not convinced about Bhajji's abilities with the ball. And it will be too big a risk to drop a batsman for Bhajji as Bhajji is pure tailender. Unless MSD thinks his batmen won't disappoint again, it is not worth the gamble.
vvvslaxman Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Totally lost interest in this world T20. First T20 loss also didn't help.

Main thing is getting wickets upfront so that Paki batsmen crap against these two. Edited March 18, 2016 by deathmonger
