maniac Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Southee boult mcleneghan Milne is miles ahead than the paki pace quartet and whose batting is better is a no brainer.thIs Aussie pace attack is par with Pak and the batting is not even a close contest.paks best chance is to hope for an Afridi off day where he can run through these sides on a spin friendly track or one of akmal hafeez or sharjeel hack special on a flat patta. adi B 1
zen Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 (edited) The problem on tough pitches is that if Pak can get NZ out for 120, NZ can get Pak out for 80That NZ can be bowled out for 120, does not necessarily improve Pak's chancesOn the other hand, flat pitches give one of the Pak batsmen including Afridi an opportunity to play a blinderIf both teams play solid cricket, NZ will most likely win. NZ's fielding and captaincy is also better .... Pak's best chance is in one or two of its players having a great day Edited March 21, 2016 by rett adi B 1
deathmonger Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Sami took out two in two on a square turner ... Amir's been excellent and Wahab and Irfan have enough quality to get it done on a proper fast pitch.I hope they don't shave that grass ... their have been enough flat and spin pitches this tournament. That's Sami's quota for the next two years. adi B and Adi_91 2
Adi_91 Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Coming back to the topic, quality spin will always be a weakness for the Aussies as was shown even yesterday. For all the hoopla that they have learnt how to play spin through IPL, it still isn't the case.
rkt.india Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 I say let the groundsman and curators at Mohali start preparing a spin friendly surface already. On a flattish surface their lineup is too long and powerful to be contained. In fact if B'desh spinners had bowled well and fielded decently, they could've had Aus in serious trouble.Mohali pitch is already slow and spin friendly these days.
Stuge Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 First we have to win vs BD .... apne sher wahin pe dher ho sakte hain Won't happen.BD is down and put with the loss of key players, and it was reflected in yesterday's match clearlySent from my A0001 using Tapatalk It appears as if Aus and NZ don't have to worry much at Mohali at least vs Pak ^ above picture posted by @Ankit_sharma03 Most of the grass will likely be shaved off before the match Seems like practice pitch to me Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
Ultimate_Game Posted March 22, 2016 Author Posted March 22, 2016 Mohali pitch is already slow and spin friendly these days. Not based on the pic I saw... the one @rett posted. In it you can barely distinguish the pitch from the outfield. Even if you shave all the grass, it won't become a spin friendly surface all of a sudden. It can become flat but not spin friendly.
