Shashank Manohar has resigned as BCCI president amid the Indian board's legal troubles with the country's Supreme Court in the wake of the Lodha Committee's recommendations to restructure the organisation, according to reports. Manohar had been elected president in October 2015 - his second term - after the death of Jagmohan Dalmiya.

Compared to Shawad Pawar I, and I think most people here, would want Sreeni.

 

Compared to Thakur, I don't know. Thakur seems like a wannabe Lalit Modi without the business acumen.

Three reasons why Shashank Manohar resigned as BCCI president

 

1.Remaining Lodha reforms are a big cause

2. Was getting unpopular within BCCI? For waiving off WI's penalty. also shelving Big three's financial advantages at ICC.

3. Not interested in working for under fire BCCI. Has used BCCI instead to build his resume for ICC

 

Next BCCI President?

 

Has to be someone from East Zone. Hence three candidates:  Anurag Thakur, IPLchairman Rajeev Shukla and current vice-president G Gangaraju.

Gangaraju might not be available as according to him, being a BJP MP from Andhra is a full time job.
