Hockey - The best team in last 30 years ?

I dont think we have had a stronger team in years . 

We have been beating big teams consistently . Ranked 7th in the world currently , I can see us breaking into top-5 very soon

Champions Trophy so far :

 

3-3 Drew with Germany - Should have won , allowed them to come back in last few mins . This is one area they still need to                                               improve on . All their recent loss and draws have been cos of poor play in the last few minutes .

2-1 Won against Eng - should have won with a bigger margin . 

 

I think we should beat Korea and Belgium . Aus will be the biggest threat though we have had some sucess against them recently .

Beat Korea , 2-1 . 

 

Second behind Aus in the table with a game to go . Last game against Aus . 

Can we make the finals for first time ever ?

We are in the finals of CT , for the first time ever . :D

That was such a hearbreak , losing in shootout after dominating the game . At one point we had close to 80% procession , I dont think I have ever see India dominate Aus like this . We still need to learn how to close out matches against big teams though .

That's a bit too much to ask for from the team. I will be very happy if they can finish in the top 5.

Yes very less chance of that happening...but you never know.

a 5th place finish will be a more than decent performance.

We have a serious chance of winning medal .

If we win against Canada (who are minnows ) we will most likely face Spain who are ranked 6 placed six places below .Win that and we are in Semis .

Would be fcking awesome if we can manage a medal after the humiliation of last two Olympics

to the Indian team

No before this year , the format was top 4 qualify directly for Semis .Now they have introduced Quarter finals .

But we have never finished higher than 7th since 88
