vishalvirsingh Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 what's the sense of creating a PATTA Wicket...go to AZAAD Maidan's or Cross Maidan's( apart from 1 green wicket) in Mumbai..one can see 75 Patta wickets..they are not created or managed. indian warm weather creates those wickets and curators roll the roller 2 times and small batsman score runs..last time I was playing a match at 71.. I was dead tired and I gave away my wicket else I would have scored a century.. I was feeling delighted as I opened the batting and the bowlers had some opportunity to get me out in first 4 overs but after that rest .. I never thought that I could get OUT..i was a 97 kg bull hitting the slow medium bowlers big and spinners were trying their best chance darting throw balls at me... players at domestic level have better STAMINA ( than me) so they don't throw away but score 100"s... Curator's are murdering Pacers ..they need to prepare GREEN Tracks..full green tracks on indian wickets as even these green grasses turn into brown grass and then loose the advantage. Curators are the key to building Pacers in future.... tweaker 1
vishalvirsingh Posted September 6, 2016 Author Posted September 6, 2016 when will the selectors and People who run Cricket Understand this BASIC POINT. ON Patta WICKETS even a no 11 batsman can score a 50 and 100..and getting or preparing wickets for SPinners is not going to help INDIAN Cricket. tweaker 1
vishalvirsingh Posted September 6, 2016 Author Posted September 6, 2016 PATTA wickets are automatically prepared by INDIAN Weather conditions.. no curator prepares it. if a curator prepare a perfect green track and does not water it for 2 days..same track will play PATTA in india as the mud is always dry and green track will turn brown. Fast bowlers will always feel cheated seeing these patta wickets. tweaker 1
express bowling Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 (edited) For domestic cricket, we need a good % of sporting pitches. Those pitches which have some bounce and help only those cricketers who are willing to put in an effort...be it pacers, spinners or batsmen. More help for pacers during the first 2 days and more help for spinners in the last 2. Too many pattas or green mambas or spinning paradise, won't help us develop fighting cricketers. kruiser Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 I think it is the other way round.. patta pitches are the ones that show the true class of a bowler. on a gream mamba, Mohit Sharma and S. Arvind are like Malcom marshal and Steyn.. A lot of pitches around the world now are like this - Australia, Trenton England, SL. We already have fair weather bowlers who can get 20 wickets on a helpful pitch. What we lack is the genuine thinking bowlers who can setup the batsmen on a flat wicket. tweaker, Stuge and sscomp32 3

I just wanna say CREATE Challenges for BATSMAN by giving a lil encouragement to PACERS. green tracks will only improve our batsman.. I have batted on PATTA Wickets ..a stage comes when a batsman has to give his wicket ..its not earned by the bowler. one needs green tracks that offers some thing to the pacer so that he tries hard else fast bowlers will only bowl with the new ball in india and then , will not look to come and bowl.

This obsession with green tracks will damage the bowler skills. Then you have vinay kumar and mithu taking loads of wickets. you need balance between both. First day should be tough to bat 2,3,4 should be easy. 5 th day should be spinning wicket. Edited September 8, 2016 by gattaca
Forever Indian Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 (edited) The only best option is to have different grounds having different types of wickets. For eg. Chepauk could help spin, Mohali can be a green mamba, Rajkot can be a patta, etc. But BCCI should encourage all types of grounds to be prepared and give exposure to players. Ultimately players will face all types of wickets when they travel. Edited September 8, 2016 by Forever Indian
express bowling Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Sporting pitches help as well as not help batsmen, pacers and spinners during different stages of a 4 or 5 day game. Would give nice practice to everybody for helpful, not helpful and neutral conditions.
fineleg Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 (edited) India Blue in Finals. Is the pitch for the finals the same 700 Greater Noida patta? Edited September 9, 2016 by fineleg
