Nope, Brexit is a no go zone. That's too worrying to laugh about.

Durham fans have heard my ECB jokes enough like "they're Greece of county cricket" so I'll leave them off here for now

In the long term Brexit may help Britain become Britannia  again.

i am no expert but i do not yet understand how they plan to trade with EU from outside when they could have as well traded with it from Inside overall its like i am in grade 12 and dont want to put pressure on myself to pass board exams or fear of flunking it so will go sit in grade 11 class and prepare for grade 12 instead. Immigration to a tiny island could have possibly been moderated in other ways ?  like send Pakistanis back ? no ?.

From what I understand, a lot of intra-EU migration (Polish etc) was hitting the blue collar workers hard.  Hence the Brexit nonsense.

The BCCI isn't public property. No one has a problem with punishing the BCCI if they do something illegal, but they are a private entity. The recommendations should remain just that, recommendations, the Lodha committee is threatening the BCCI to do what it says.

 We're moving toward becoming a Banana Republic.

If bcci is a pure private body how can it's team officially represent the nation? People watch the matches which is the source of income coz the team officially represents india rite and not because  a private team plays quality cricket.

Every single penny bcci earns is coz it represents the nation.

^ I guess ethically they represent the nation, legally its a private entity. Since the court is dealing with law, the legal aspect assumes importance.

But the fact is that bcci represents the nation. That is why I believe they should listen to the supreme court of the nation. If any recommendation is not practical they can raise it in the court rite. But making a mockery of the rulings of the apex court of the nation is not right.

The team doesn't represent the nation. It represents the BCCI. The ICC recognizes BCCI as the body to control cricket in India. You are free to start up your own board and approach ICC for recognition. The SC shouldn't really care who the ICC chooses to recognize as it has no authority over ICC.

Legally Wat you are saying is right. But can we close our eyes towards an ethical fact? Can even the court discard such a big ethical fact?

No one has a copyright over the use of INDIA.

The court is in no mood to listen to anything. Its poor stuff.

The court has to act legally not ethically.

So my question is are you supporting an entity which made all this money by pretending to represent the nation all these years and now they say in court that we are a private firm and you (nation) do not have a say in our operations?

With just four days to go for the first India-England Test at Rajkot, Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) secretary, Niranjan Shah has dismissed reports claiming that England’s tour is in jeopardy given the Supreme Court’s order restricting the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) from disbursing funds to its state associations and carrying out any other financial transactions without the apex court’s consent.

“If the Indian cricket board can’t make any payments to the visiting teams or for any other expenses involved in organising the Test match that has been allotted to the SCA, I assure you, there is no need to worry as our association is quite capable of bearing all expenses,” Shah told mid-day yesterday.

“For that matter, I don’t think even Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Mumbai, Andhra Pradesh, who are hosting the remaining Tests, will also feel any pressure as they too should be able to bear all the expenses involved while organising the matches,” added Shah. He admitted that in case there would be any further instructions from the Lodha panel to the state associations, then the situation could change.

BCCI is a private body is just a legal loophole .SC addressed it by pointing it performs public function using public funds .

Ultimately it has come to the question of which is more important whether cricket and fans or BCCI

Obviously this should have been addressed by our Parliament but unfortunately the its the same politicians who are in BCCI .So it has gone to the extreme that SC has to step in .

The only think that should matter is whether the steps SC taking will benefit Indian cricket and Indian fans not whether BCCI is a private body .

Frankly it should have happened the day BCCI stopped cricket being part of Olympics .
