We can reopen the AVKC thread if needed.

So he apparently used to play very close to his body? Quiet the opposite case with Rahul, when Naseer mentioned he plays way away from his body for an openers. 2 of his dismissals back that case.

Virat is one of india's best players of the pull shot and handling bounce.....will this new stance not effect his ability playing the short ball especially the ones coming at your head at 140+...can someone explain?

Kohli  is standing with a slightly open-body stance...that would reduce his blind spot and make it easier for him to play  round-the-wicket deliveries  including bouncers.

He is then making a back and across movement. If there is a short ball, his balance is already on the back foot and he is getting more time to play the ball, whether defending it or playing the pull / hook. he is also in line of the delivery.

He may find it slightly difficult to sway away from bouncers  on the off stump, as he has already moved towards it.

Ducking should be easier but he  needs to keep his bat down and not stick it up like a periscope.

If the ball is pitched up....he is then making a front and across movement and going to the line of the ball...this should help him counter outswing and off-stump deliveries....he won't have to play away from the body.

His excellent wrist-work and ability to pick length is perhaps overcoming the slight difficulty of this stance regarding incoming deliveries.

His balance was off. He is now using a more pronounced back-and-across shuffle when the bowler is releasing the ball. Basically, improving his positioning.

Anti Virat Kohli Club

Would be fun to revive it at this moment... just to see what kind of old stuff was in there. I assume it was going strong during Eng tour.
