If England bat first:

Help from a fresh pitch in first 30-40 minutes, England down 1-2 wickets for 30 runs.

Will start building partnerships after that. Root and Bairstow to make 100s.

No turn for Ashwin/Jaddu on day 1 pitch.

England 300/4 end of day 

 

If India bat first:

K L Rahul will fire, score around 60 before throwing it away against spinners trying to accelerate

Vijay undone again by a short ball on offstump line

Pujara's good run of form to come to an end. Will try to cover the stumps too much by bringing pad across and will be LBW

Kohli's wicket will again become make or break and he will again step up by scoring another 100. Unbeaten at the end of day.

Rahane will play solid and will look to get a 100 before a soft dismissal gets him out at 55.

Parthiv Patel will score a breezy 30 and get out just before end of play

England will bowl tight, India to end day at 260/5

Yes, Toss win, KL Rahul injury and with a new opener in Nair (or even make-shift with Pappu Patel), this India team is weaker to chase.

 

I predict a Eng Win here, if they play right.

You were clearly the closest apart from the obvious blunder. I hope Patel's career is finished after this match.
