I think that's exaggeration. They had good bowlers like Wasim, Imran, Waqar who could pick 20 wickets and when batsmen contributed, they won. Probably only Waqar 'blowed away' oppositions when it reversed (like Starc) for 2-3 years. Otherwise they were good (away) and that's about it.

So you are going to delve on ancient history, when we are talking here about more recent form. Even so, Pakistan have not won more Tests in Australia than India. Pak has won 4, while India have won 5.

That is not true. Since 1999/2000 when both India and Pak toured Australia, India has only played one additional series in Australia than Pakistan.

 

Pak in Aus:

2004/05: 0-3

2009/10: 0-3

2016/17: 0-3

 

(In between in 2002/03, Pak even got whitewashed in UAE/SL by Australia to go with their whitewashes in Australia)

 

Ind in Aus:

2003/04: 1-1

2007/08: 1-2 

2011/12: 0-4

2014/15: 0-2

Thanks for the stats. You forgot to post the 1999 series stats where both Pak & Ind were white washed as well 3-0 by Aus. India won  one test in 2003-04 series where Mcgrath & Warne were missing and Aus played a second rate attack. India won one test match in 2007 series where Aus had a  strong team. So In past 2 decades India managed to win just 1 test match despite touring Aus more than Pak. This just prove my point. Indian batsmen are supposed to be world best but they also cannot draw games in Aus.

You forgot how to count ? 

1-1,1-2, 0-2 in a 4 test series means what exactly for the other games ?

In addition to Muloghtonto's post above, you cannot discount a team just because it was missing some players. Besides, Warne has never had any great record against India, so they were effectively missing only McGrath.

 

As for the batsmen, they all have healthy records in Australia:

Tendulkar averages 53 in Australia and has got 6 x 100s there

Dravid averages only 41 in Aus, but had a great 2003/04 tour when he was the Player of the Series. He played match-winning knocks in both innings to win the Adelaide Test

Sehwag averages 47 in Aus

Laxman averages 44 in Aus and has 4 x 100s

 

So, all in all, they are pretty good records here for batting. The struggle we have always had in Aus has been bowling the Aussies out for low scores.  

 

 

I didn't mention this earlier, but in 2007/08, India should have actually won the series with the Sydney Test (at least drawn that series). We witnessed the worst umpiring I have ever seen in a game (I didn't watch too many Test matches in Pakistan before neutral umpires, so that's why the Sydney Test of 2008 for me counts as the worst) and if not for that loss, we would have had two successive series where we drew with Aus, all the while when Pakistan were getting beaten black and blue every time they showed up Down Under.

Pakistan used to tour Australia a lot more in the 90s. Its because of their poor performance that they arent invited recently.

 

Pakistan toured Australia in 1990 ,1995 and 1999.Whereas India had a 8 year gap after touring in 1991 and only toured in 99

 

After that both toured Australia in with 4-5 year gap.India toured in 2003/04 and 2007/08 seasons and Pakistan toured the subsequent season in 2004/05 and 2008/09.But the difference is that India drew the 03/04 series 1-1 and lost a highly competitive series n 08/09 2-1.Whereas Pakistan continued to get whitewashed the procession they started in 1999.

 

SO no it isnt because our regular tours our performance have gone up.Its the other way around.Because we are highly competitive ,that both India and South Africa are continuously invited  .In the meantime Pakistan has continued to get roll over and get humiliated in Australia. Ofcourse this isnt without adding the additional baggage of match fixing ,ball tampering controversies that Pakistan team bring with it.Remember Lala biting the ball in Australia or the controversial Sydney test loss in 09?So its natural they will be invited even less in the future.
