How are they valid? How many games Bhuvi played? Stats and statsguru can go to hell since bhuvi bowled in powerplays with 4 player out. Rule has changed since last 15 months with extra fielder outside now. Bhuvi hasn't benifitted much since he hasn't played much in last 12 months. Umesh's economy rate actually only gets worse if you check his economy in last 1 year, that is even after field restrictions rule change which was suppose to benefit the bowlers.

Stats will not show that. Cricinfo needs to take statsguru down so people stop worrying too much about stats and actually see and realzr that ODI rules change a lot from time to time.

Stats always look useless when it goes against us      :phehe:

We must realize that only Shami and Bumrah are good ODI  bowlers among pacers in India.....all the rest are bad.

Pandya looks good these days and I  want to try new pacers in ODIs, maybe Nathu and Sran who have the necessary tools..... Umesh, Bhuvi, Ishant, Mohit.....none of them impress me as ODI pacers.

So, both have been ordinary and both should not have made it back to the team.

No, Umesh is close to 6 eco in his career and Bhuvi is close to 5.

If someone can do better than that, than i am all for them. But for now, Bhuvi is the best option. He will and should be there in the champions trophy and even in 2019 wc.

Economy rates in the year before last year, when Bhuvi played a lot.  Look at  the highest average too.

Umesh job is to take wickets. In today cricket if you cant take wickets no matter how good u are at death you will be hammered.Bhuvi failed to get early wickets so was dropped.Even if you contain in the end you will get hammered.

His worst year and yet his overall career economy rate is still better than that shown only proves how good Bhuvii has actually been overall compared to others.

Look at his high overall average of 38  and low wickets per match in his whole ODI career.   How does that make him good in ODIs   ?

Why can't we look beyond Umesh and  Bhuvi and look for new bowlers  ?   .....there are many excellent talents coming through.

Bhuvi was injured. And ODI is not all about just taking wickets. If a bowler is still bowling well, better economy than others,

than I will keep him in the squad.

Umesh has been playing for plenty of years. We need to think and move on. People want new bats, we need mew bowlers too to change our ODi' team's fortune. Our bowling is the reason we lose more and not batting. Iff we keep playing Umesh, we aren't foimg anywhere.

We can and we should, hence this thread but people went on Umesh's defense with Stats and statsguru.

Odi is all about taking wickets. Its simple. Umesh will probably be replaced by shami and be backup to him so i do not see issue going forward. But Umesh last year was one of top odi wicket takers in World cricket in odi we cant forget that.

Not really....I quoted the stats to show that only Bumrah and Shami are good ODI bowlers....some of you went on Bhuvi's defense seeing that.

Bhuvi had a good ER when he was not used sufficiently during the death overs and his ER became like Umesh, Mohit etc. when he started bowling at the death.

I,  personally,  don't rate Umesh, Bhuvi, Mohit or Ishant as good ODI bowlers.

More than Umesh, I will now give chance to Aaron if  he gets fit

Not complainig, fact.  As stats were shown for only few years. I won't defend but will put the right thing across, before you come and troll in this thread again

I'm not trolling. I'm calling you out. And what's wrong with only a few years? That shows what they have done recently. Should we pick players on what they did in 2011? Your logic is wrong.
