Cricketics Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Ya in Inziz word, Boys bowled well and Kohli did not even use Pandya, yet we won. If we can sort our batting, this can be the team to beat. But since this is a bowlers thread, i think Mishra, Nehra, Bumrah amd Pandya is a good combo. Still not sold on Gunda Chahal. I do not mind Nehra as long as we do not have too many other old players in the team. One old bowler is fine to have if we can adjust the team by playing better fielders who are better batters than the current lot.

Texan Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Agreed. We can carry a Nehra, because he has been bowling well in T20 cricket of late. The problem is the batting. Too many old players playing in ODI mentality, no power hitters. I don't mind getting older players too if they can contribute. For e.g., it might be worth trying Yusuf Pathan again as he did well in the IPL and can muscle the ball. Yuvraj and Dhoni are just a waste having in a T20 team. Cricketics and rahulrulezz 2

When you have no one else to bowl in death other than him and Zaheer, then you can't really say he lost us his share. Everyone goes for runs in the death. Zaheer went for a lot too and so did Agarkar, my favorite ODI bowler from India. Bumrah has the potential to be India's best death bowler. Infact he might as well take it from today. I sandeep 1

That just shows how poor Indian bowling has been, we are remembering a match which happened 12 years ago.But Nehra unlike many bowlers is not scared to bowl death overs.Not blaming Nehra here but lamenting the fact that India lacked of good death bowlers. I do not think it is just lack of skill, it is the ability to absorb pressure and not fearing failures. Mariano Rivera is best closer in baseball he was always saying there is always tomorrow and that mindset made him not afraid to lose. Kohli was also saying the same thing to Bumrah .
