Stick to Test venues ONLY please.

Australia never give big test matches in venues like Darwin, Cairns etc. They book those grounds only if smaller teams like BD, Zim touring them.

 

 

What is the itching in BCCIs rear side to have test matches in all venues? If you wish to spread the game...do so for LOIs, IPLs etc. Dont experiment in an important series like Australia. Now we will play 2 more test in Ranchi and Dharmasala where no one knows how the pitch will behave

 

 

BCCI should stick to bigger venues for test cricket like all other cricket nations do.

The above 8 should be our test venues only. Play in BCCIs gardens for ODIs for all I care.

I agree. Eng and Aus play on pitches they have lot of experience playing in like Aus - Melbourne, Sydney, Hobart, Perth & Eng - Lords, Oval, Manchester, Nottingham, Southampton. So they have the real home advantage.

 

When we start dishing out tests to loads of new venues, the team does not know what to expect and cannot make full use of the home advantage. Especially venues like Pune, Dharamsala would be the first time many players will be playing for first time even at First Class level.

 

Have some iconic Test venues and make those tests memorable. For eg, we still remember the Lords win because we know about the ground. If it was a random venue people may not even remember where the win came.

 

The smaller centres also don't get big crowds in.

One new venue per series is fine, preferably in last test, like Indore vs NZ. But introduction of 3 new venues in 4 matches must have been done for the first time.

Yeah blame pitch for your own shortcomings. What's your excuse for our batting in second innings.By that time we already knew how the pitch was and still were poor.

The stadium was practically empty on all days other than the kids brought on school trip.

And they still drew Rs. 2 crore in ticket sales before the match even began. Cheapest ticket was Rs. 400. Camera-facing stands cost Rs. 1000 and 2000.

The stadium construction has been incomplete due to default of payments by Subrata Roy for naming rights. It was supposed to have upper tier seating all throughout the stadium with a total capacity of 57,000.
