Aussies batted really well

Hats off to them. Generally they come across as attacking batting unit, but here they batted like good old days. Survived more than 100 overs and lost only 6 wickets during that. It was the same pitch where India was bowled out in litle over 2 sessions.

 

They gave nothing away and it was not individual brilliance. Even Smith who scored 8 survived 52 balls.

 

Test teams have forgotten to bat like this on tough tracks. Forget about runs, just try survive scoring at 2 runs per over. There was a time when they were playing lot of maidens but didn't lose patience. 

 

Although they were helped by Indian team who kept on leaving out their wicket taker from attack, it has been great display in long time. In fact this is best batting performance by an overseas team in last 10 years or so. On other ocassions like Eng series in 2012 and SA series it was great batsmen doing the job, here it was regular batsmen applying themselves.

I've been very very impressed by the Aussies. They not only learned their lessons from their previous tours to sub-continent but changed the approach to apply the learnings. They changed the aggressive way they play and were willing to be patient and wait for their runs. This series Aussie batsmen have been more Indian like than Indian batsmen and Indian batting lineup looks like an Aussie one

I think we all find it odd just how valid that is. I can't think of anyone who wouldn't be surprised by the current circumstances of this series.

No matter how surprising it is but hats off to the way Aussies managed to do so. It's easy to say the right things such as "we have to be patient" or "we have to bat time to score runs" etc. but it's a different ballgame altogether in the middle. This series is one of the very few I've seen a team actually do that. And it's not just one or two batsmen who are doing it but the whole team!

 

I would say Indian team is as surprised as all of us and were expecting Aussies to roll over given the pitches and are now caught with their pants down after seeing this new approach from the Aus team. One thing this series does prove is it's not the pitches which wins you the match, but the performance. I hope other teams pick on it and look at the way Aussies are performing instead of whinging and moaning about pitches or tosses.

I must say I have been surprised by determination ,those back to back 5 test defeats have been a boon for them.And obviously our shambolic display's with the bat have magnified their above average batting efforts.

Yes, they have and their selection of players also has been keeping in mind the players who could play spin.

Credit where it is due..wonderful show of grit by Aussies..fair play to them. Only if Indian batters had their head right..this could have been one hell of a series similar to the 2005 Ashes. Only wish is somehow Indian batters could show the grit and resolve atleast 50% shown by Aussie batters and don't fold like pack of cards tomorrow

Yes they have they made ashwin to look like a part timer considering Lyons 8 wickets I was hoping he would get alteast 4 of them but unfortunately he desappointed me, specially that young opener is very talented he was playing as if it was his 7nth or 8th India tour
