SecondSlip
Why does every team suck away from home in test cricket? This is the official era of home track bullies. Let’s just look at various test results in the past few months. This Aussie team that defeated England 4-0 couldn’t even win against Bangladesh in August. This is the same England team that defeated a strong South Africa team 2-1 at home. This South African team is about to win their test match in Cape Town against India, a team which looked unstoppable at home except for a minor blip in Pune. Test cricket has become way too one dimensional and predictable. The host team will win the series 99% of the time. bowl_out and maniac 2 Link to comment
SK_IH
I agree, its boring and monotonous.I think the reason is lack of match practice in that country and general tendency to give up when the going gets tough speedheat and Gollum 2 Link to comment
kira
Test cricket was always predictable, in fact it was even more predictable in the past when windies dominated everyone in the 80s and the aussies dominating everyone in the 2000s, please tell when was test cricket unpredictable? bowl_out
Agree with OP.. Wonder why India is called a home track bully.. Matter of fact is that every team is a home track bully these days in Test cricket at least.. Zero_Unit 1 Link to comment
speedheat
Its not predictable Its just too long, make it short by preparing lively pitches we want to see wicket fall and result, nobody wants to see batsman scoring daddy hundreds on flat tracks ending in dull draw. Gollum 1 Link to comment
cric_fan
Scrap 5-Test series. Teams like Eng do not deserve it.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk speedheat 1 Link to comment
waga
most casual fans just watch home games so its kind of drifted into it being not an option to lose them. Thats why Australia does the roads every time, that why India has spent the last 3 years smashing teams at home or weak teams overseas in conditions which are the exact same as at home. This ashes was terrible but actual competitions recently have been amazing, Australia in India and veen Bangladesh, SA in aus, this Capetown test now. You need competitive test cricket, its the only form which isn't just who can follow the throw the bat early, consolidate in the middle and then swing at the end on a road that limited formula the best. Theres so much more depth and nowhere to hide. Link to comment
