Shaw batting on 49 from 40 balls against Karnataka.

How long is this guy going to be kept away from ODIs?

Till Gabbar and Fatso are there, nobody can take their places.

Fatso is also presumably dreaming about the Test Comeback, so there you go.

I think he's injured. Don't know the nature of his injury but he's been out for a long time now.

Yes he seems injured ,last ranji season he was not featuring in the later part and since then he is out of action

I remember his spell against Bengal where he took 4 fer, bowled at lively pace

Shaw can be invaluable to this Indian ODI team because he is one of the few Indian batters who is a fast starter, plays at a SR of 110+  but is still reasonably consistent.  And I feel that the way he has started this season,  his consistency will improve.

Our national team selectors and Team management seem to be totally oblivious to the need of having high SR batters in modern day LOIs.   Amazing really  !

Agreed. An opener who's quick off the block is invaluable. Someone like Sehwag was immense even with his average that was on the lower side. I doubt Shaw would be any less consistent that him. An average of 40 or thereabouts with a SR of 100+ would do nicely.

The big difference between Kohli and Dhawan on the one hand and Dhoni , Rayudu and Rahane on the other hand, is that Kohli and Dhawan never let their SRs fall much during any time of their innings.

The last 3 never let their SRs rise at any time during their innings.

Rohit starts slow but makes up later.

yea i knw , my point was against the suppourters of rayudu, rahane in the garb of anchoring

that we already have anchors and it being an anchor doesnt mean to bat slow. Rohit, dhawan , kohli all do that job well all this team needs is impact players like rahul, pant or atleast utility like Krunal

Aus series is the last hope where

Jadhav 6th bowling option

Rayudu batting can be exposed

What a downfall Unmukt has had. From what I recall he's been rubbish for about 2 years now. Surprised he still gets picked in Dehli's first team
Unmukt gives me a very Durjoy Datta type vibes

Maybe he wasn't meant for this ****

While I agree the iron should be stuck when it's hot - the thing is there is virtually no place for Shaw in Team India right now.
The only place is reserved in the middle order which will probably go to Rahane/Rayudu for the time being.

Other people got chances because they had open spots.
But now know one has the guts to discard Gabbar/Maggie and even if one of them is dropped , KL Rahul is slated to take the place.

And we are winning comfortably anyways so no need to change the team.
Also, team changes usually come with a change of the guard in captaincy circa Dhoni's time.

Kohli came and is gradually trying to phase out Dhoni loyals from his team - the next captain will also probably kick out Kohli loyals out of the team and replace them with his chamchas.

The process of Chamchagiri just goes on.
