  1. Vaughan has predicted an England one, , one of the most anti India commentators out there, hope we win, always fun to see him eat a humble pie
  2. Correct, also adopt flexibility and retain people like Mayank for home tests for their spin playing prowess. I feel that we should invest in tests specialists and pay them enough so that lack of IPL money doesn't worry them
  3. Will we win even one test, NZ is likely to be a whitewash, can't believe they will end up with 5 consecutive wins against us. Hope the team surprises by delivering against SL
  4. Ghar mein ek test bhi jeetna is overrated!
  5. I guess he also believes that winning home test series is overrated
  6. Correct, they always have an anti-India bias, their opinions shouldn't matter, don't know why people seek validation from such useless group of people, hopefully we beat them and give them something more to cry about
  7. Our batting and bowling has regressed under him, what's worse is the decline in catching and in general fielding, while not everyone can be a natural, they can improve. The likes of Kuldeep and Sundar don't seem to be improving and that is the responsibility of GG and the backroom staff, what kind of time pass are they doing?
  8. Don't understand why the team management of these teams seem obsessed with these bowlers, there should be some X factor like height, swing or pace and there should be a minimum threshold for pace. Why are such bowlers being persisted with and worse the likes of Tyagi and Umran are struggling to get games
  9. It will and the home tests especially. Our inability to close out small targets is frustrating, you see the likes of SA winning titles because they can close out games and here our players seem to find smallest of targets daunting. The decline in our catching standards is especially unforgivable, what is the support staff doing that players seem to be getting worse
  10. This. His tenure has coincided with worst period for home tests, also many of these tests were winnable. Still can't believe how we lost all tests to SA and NZ, even Aus tour was a disaster. The number of cases we have messed up under him tells me he is unable or unwilling to learn from mistakes.
  11. Didn't know this. Ridiculous rule! Having said I am sure we can find some other Indian contenders, maybe Nehra could be an option.
  12. The suprising part is how he has clung on despite whitewashes against NZ and SA and the debacle of Aus tour. Any one of them should have been enough to fire this guy. BCCI babus being as apathetic as usual, the current lot of administrators, selectors and back room staff have to rank as the worst in our history, they are parasites only interested in sucking money from the game
  13. Sure agree with you, I think we are saying the same thing, and even ATG will have weakness and lose matches but there are some aspects here which have been our strength and some where we were showing improvement with previous dispensation. This could ofcourse be only a personnel issue or something else as well(we won't know until we change) but a refusal to acknowledge this and trying the same thing with same personnel makes it a management failure in my book
  14. Should do this in all matches to keep things 'fair'. Also for opposing teams we should bring in Indian constructs like 'one tappa out' and 'out if ball goes outside the stadium'
  15. This. Also Gambhir doesn't seem to have the ability to seperate players by format , also seems to have favourites, not sure what that does to the morale of the team. Having said that we have to be realistic about our weakness 1. Lack of ability to play spin which means we struggle on turning tracks something that was our strength 2. Lack of high quality spin bowlers who are strong mentally as well 3. Lack of pace bowlers to support Bumrah (the likes of Siraj blow hot and cold) 4. Finally a team that has an atrocious record of catching with the likes of Kuldeep and Sundar who are weak fielders irrespective of position I have not included a lack of ability to play in swinging conditions because that has been a perennial problem and continues with this lot. Added to this is a lack of intent to give a chance to players who do well in Ranji but who may not shine in IPL, this hampers us especially in tests. The only positive in the last few years has been the hitting ability of some of our T20 players and even that has been exposed. Not sure if the current dispensation is bothered about where we are
  16. Must be kicked out but mostly because he has been useless, I don't see any new paceman improving under his tenure, people like Krishna and Rana continue to be run machines and the latter especially has seen a drop in pace as well. Also he had some natural talent and advantages as a bowler, can help really improve people or is trading on reputation alone. At the end of the day looks like another foreigner making money at India's expense, it's okay if the team and players improve under his tenure but if not then kick him out and bring back Arun who had a much better tenure
  17. Seems like a mental issue, different format but we can't chase anything in tests either, what are the likes of GG and the rest upto, we seem to be getting worse irrespective of the format
  18. We need to win our own matches and hopefully the rest falls in place, having said that the way our batting is going I am not sure we will win against WI, expect us to win against Zim, if we loose against the former then NRR is moot
  19. Sure bhai, the fixer got this one thing right maybe he will be right about India not making the semi finals, still in his case it looks more like broken clock. Agree about the point regarding Abhishek needing to go back to the drawing board
  20. This, he has always seemed poor against spin but then all our batsmen need to learn how to play spin, also need to find some decent spinners for our attack to support Varun
  21. Anyone but Pak and South Africa (mainly because of their coach)
  22. Agree with this, allegiance to a 'star' trumps allegiance to the team for some of these people
  23. Hope Devendran and Ambrish get the right opportunities and are encouraged to bowl fast by their local teams. Somebody like a Tyagi isnt a regular in his local Ranji side after so many years (injuries apart), this should not happen to this duo
  24. Prasidh has been a big disappointment, very Nanty Hayward-ish, he was high on pace but little else, a classic example of how pace alone doesn't suffice. Also Rana is headed down the same path but without the pace even. Hope we get another bowler who is like Mayank but can sustain. The team setup in Ranji Trophy doesn't inspire confidence, all one sees his spinner paced trundlers and spin bowlers who can't spin, the quality for tests is so poor
