It could be in terms of number of tourists visiting annually, scenic beauty, activities and facilities, untouched natural environment, or similar criteria. But should check out Kodaikanal , beautiful town with much better mountain scenery and spots than Ooty. Wayanad also another great location.Generally loved both Shimla and Darjeeling too . Most of the Chakrata is owned by army and land has been given on lease to localites. It is about 100 kilometers from Dehradun City and out of that 40 odd kilometers is consistent hilly terrain. It is a small town and is a part of Jaunsar-Bawar, scheduled tribe of Jaunsaris. It sees quite a lot of snowfall every year during winters, December - Feb and that is the best time to go there. This year we had a lot of snowfall there even in March, just before Holi.
