Well, it is not wrong but is very backward if you consider that hardly any of the people are following their caste based professions. Caste system may have been relevant once upon a time in India but it does not have relevance in modern world. Basically, it is used only for running caste-based politics by corrupt politicians and people who may become "adyakshas" of respective cast community trusts etc. 

Main point is, it is time to overcome this relic of the past and move on. Caste system does not serve any useful purpose anymore to the society.
