If he can bat better than Jadhav,Pandey,Dhoni,Iyer,DK and on good days give 4-5 good overs wouldn’t you consider that a bonus even if he trundles at 76mph

No cos that not a genuine all rounder. That’s like what dada used to do . Panday was proper pacer last game , real quality bowling

pandya not fired with bat but one of biggest hitters out there . He just needs to learn to get in first .  He is perfect odi player , give him some time

Shankahr is not an all rounder . Pandya is genuine all rounder

we waited 30 years for such a player and as soon as starts finding his feet icf wants change

by the way panday bowling in lasts game was not bit and pieces but genuine quality pace bowling

Pandya is definitely a luxury we can afford if our top order is fixed and a must in T20 format..however for Odis and even tests if we have non existent middle order and dependent on Top 3, we are asking for trouble.

His bowling is not that solid yet...might give in a good performance here and there.

Either we fix our other issues with the middle order so that we can afford his X factor or he improves to be a batsman or bowler to walk in to the team on one dept alone.

Bowled excellent again today

Doubters will wait until the next time he goes for a few runs - like even the world's best bowlers do, in LOIs.

Pandya keeps on trucking, and importantly keeps showing improvement - the key thing you want to see when you are talking about a 20-something year old who started bowling very late in his career.   A decent B minus on the bowling front for him this series, a firm D with the bat though.  I was hoping that SA get to 290 or so today, and he gets an opportunity to bat a bit.  Needs to gain exposure and experience on that front.  The one time he got the  chance early in the series, he looked very tentative.  Solid A+ on the fielding front though.

yes, quite true. his batting was a big let-down but I thought his ODI bowling was fairly decent.

Bhogle explains very well the case of pandya.....

Thats why Failures are good coz they tell u about ur weekness and thats how ull make progress

Pandya is in 2nd stage where opposition have noe thrown a challenge and him getting over from it will make him better. Whenever we want someone new to come on ICF we get impatient with his failure forgetting that one day opposition will figure a weekness of u and challenge u . Sooner or later it will happen to chahal n kuldeep to , thats the time u keep patience with coz it will happen to everyone. This challenge always separates the long term prospects  from the one season wonders.

I was watching this interview of chappell where he said " one summer we exploited viv richards weekness on offside and that was our biggest mistake coz then he became a gr8 player on off side to"

Patience is must with any young cricketer, i hope we dnt loose it when kuldeep, chahal, bumrah are challenged by opposition coz lets not forget everyone will have week areas.

Vijay shankar is not an all rounder

in domestic cricket he might be . But in international cricket his bowling will be 76 mph trundle fest and get smoked . Pandya is twice the bowler he is

batting wise shankahr decent and comparable to pandya . But I repeat shankar bowling is pathetic for international cricket . Last game pandya hit Rabada in grill , shankahr could barley get ball to bounce above knee height

He is not as bad as you make him to be...

Yeah...he can be considered as part-time batting allrounder (may be like ganguly)
