G_B_ Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Pak v SA chasing side won India v SL chasing side won Pak v SL chasing side won India v SA chasing side won England v Australia chasing side won. Bangladesh v New Zealand chasing side won The only time the side batting first has won (washouts not counted) are India v Pakistan and England v New Zealand and SA v SL. Assuming Pakistan dont mess up today thats 7-3 in favor of chasing. Two of the bat first wins happened in the first round of matches. As the tournament has progressed is been a chase and win tournament. I have to say, i was deeply impressed by India's bowlers v SA. Maybe its just being on the right side of the toss. RKT has a thread saying Pakistan will win the CT. I say Pakistan will only win the CT if they chase in both their matches. speedheat and sandeep 2

Laaloo Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Shows in perspective how brilliantly Yuvi played even if he is on his last legs against Pakistani. Without his knock we would have reached 260 odd. speedheat and Lord 2
TNAmarkFrmIndia Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Depends on the score you restrict the opposition to and the quality of your batting.
BeautifulGame Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Not really. Even in Srl vs Pakistan match , Srilanka would have defended the total and won if they held on to their catches. Pakistan vs SA was decided by DL matches . Only Nzl vs Ban and India vs Srl resulted in advantages due to chasing . Otherwise it's just favourites chasing and winning like Eng vs Aus and Ind vs SA.
NareshK Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Its not a question of chasing being easy. In some grounds, batting in general has been difficult because pitches have been sluggish so you are not sure which target to set. In these matches, batting second has been difficult too but chasing side can take their time because they know their target. First game against Pakistan, pitch was not easy to bat on but Indian batsmen made the most of it especially Yuvi played a blinder and Kohli got into groove at the end. Even against SA, batting was not easy but SA ended up with a well below par score because of India's bowling effort and that made chasing relatively easier.
