India U 19 team for England tour

BCCI announced the squads for the tour in both formats of the game.

 

 

Prithvi Shaw to lead India colts in one-day games & 
Haryana batsman Himanshu Rana has been named as the captain of the team in the four-day fixtures.

 

The junior selectors have done a reasonably good job in picking up slightly different names for the two formats of the game. They have taken into consideration the playing styles of different players and then drafted them into the two squads.

The tour will commence on July 19 with the Indian colts playing a warm-up match which will be a two-day game.

The first four-day match will be played at Chesterfield commencing on July 23. The second and the final four-day game will be played at the venue in Worcester from July 31.

 

one-day fixtures the first game will be played at Cardiff on August 7 and the second match will be played at Canterbury on August 9. Hove and Bristol will host the third and the fourth match which will take place on August 12 and August 14 respectively. The final match of the tour will be played at Taunton on August 16.

Except Darshan Nalkande, i have seen all and they all look good.

Pace bowling culture has really changed in India.  All these young fast bowlers are bowling with effort, trying to hit the deck hard and wanting to bowl quick.

 

Nagakotti is perhaps the quickest of the lot....and he did well in the VH Trophy too.He is also a handy batsman and can be groomed as a backup for Hardik Pandya.

Personally, I am not in favour of developing cutters at the development stage of a young pacer's career.

 

It often leads to issues with ball release and seam positions.

 

IMHO,  they should work on great seam positions like Bumrah, Shami and Bhuvi.....and develop variations at a later stage in their careers.      : )

I've seen Porel, Nagarkoti particularly n Mavi seem quick n promising.What about Promising players n bat.

A batting all-rounder from Rajasthan I think. Rajasthan is almost single-handedly producing many of India's U19 promising talents - Salman Khan, Mahipal Lomror, Rahul Chahar and Kamlesh Nagarkoti to name a few.
